Here’s a MARKLIN HO gauge AC powered DB livery 4-6-0 & tender locomotive in what looks to be lovely unboxed condition… These are gorgeous models with their wealth of detail… High running plate and simple but elegant livery. Lovely order all round by the looks of it.. Details all look absolutely as issued but of course there may be the odd mark or defect from use or storage… But we noted nothing at all… Looks a beautiful model. Note these are designed to run on Marklin track and our test was run on this with a Marklin AC controller. Ran very nicely in both directions. We’ve taken plenty of good photos so do please ensure you study them to make sure you’re happy and the model’s right for you. We aim to post very quickly so you’re not waiting and waiting, but do please be patient in this regard as sometimes commitments mean we can’t get to the Post Office as quickly as we’d like. But do please let us know as orders can come in separately and get missed.

Learn more about us. Dapol 2S-016-007 Pre-Owned 2S-016-007 M7 0-4-4 Southern Black 246 – Steam Tank Locomotive. Pre-Owned Item, in as new condition. This model is not currently suitable for our DCC decoder fitting service. The LSWR M7 Class is a class of 0-4-4 passenger tank locomotive built between 1897 and 1911. Drummond designed the class for use on the intensive London network of the London & South Western Railway (LSWR). The locomotive proved to be well suited to such tasks. Because of their usefulness, 105 were built, 95 being built at Nine Elms Works with the remaining ten built at Eastleigh Works. The class went through several modifications over five production batches. For this reason, there were detail variations such as frame length. Under LSWR and Southern Railway ownership they had been successful suburban passenger engines, although with the increased availability of newer standard designs, many of the class were diagrammed to take on a new role as reliable branch line engines, especially in Southern England. Many of the class also entered service with British Railways. With members of the class lasting in service until 1964, two examples have survived into preservation: number 245, in the National Railway Museum, and 53 (as BR 30053) on the Swanage Railway. The rest of the class were scrapped. One locomotive was withdrawn in 1937, one in 1938 and the remainder being withdrawn between 1957 and 1965 FEATURES. Highly detailed body with many separately added parts. Keyed axles (similar to the Dapol N Gauge A4/A3) to prevent quartering slippage. Improved power path from rear pony wipers improved with contact plates. 48g in weight giving this little locomotive a very impressive haulage capacity. The model is DCC’friendly’. It is a simple matter to replace this PCB with a wired’micro’ decoder by making 4 solder connections. DC only users do not need to make any changes. 3 pole can motor providing smooth slow speed running and a realistic top speed. TRACK SUPPLY 12v DC. Please note this is not a guaranteed service and parcels may take longer to arrive. Tracking information is provided once the parcel is handed over. There is no guarantee for same day dispatch. We will try and rectify any issues as quickly as possible. We aim to provide you with the very best service and great second hand model railway items. This is always very much appreciated! Not quite satisfied with your order? In operation for over 50 years, Rails of Sheffield has grown to become one of Europe’s largest award winning model railway retailers and an industry leader. Despite five decades of growth and its transformation into an award-winning national and international retailer, Rails has seen rapid expansion in recent years. In 2022, to meet the increasing demand of the ever-growing model railway industry, Rails moved into larger warehouse and office spaces in Dronfield, Derbyshire. Their partnership with the National Railway Museum, Railway Icons and various manufacturers continues to flourish, with multiple exclusive locomotives and rolling stock being designed and developed throughout the year. Now, as we step into 2025, Rails remains the leading name in the model railway industry, with exciting plans for further expansion and continued dedication to serving model railway enthusiasts and hobbyists from South Yorkshire and beyond! A BRIEF HISTORY RAILS ORIGINS 1970. Working from the back of Hedley’s shop on Holmesdale Road, Dronfield on the southern outskirts of Sheffield, interest grew steadily throughout the decade and by the early-1980s, Rails was a fixture at toy fairs and swap meets such as the regular Buxton Pavilion Fair. Between then and 2000, the team regularly attended thousands of events across the UK – building a loyal customer base. LAUNCHING THE STORE 1980. With a growing legion of regular customers building up, a’proper’ shop was required, and Rails moved to Chesterfield Road in Heeley Bottom, a few doors away from the current shop. Rails moved to another shop on Chesterfield Road and established the first part of its permanent base. In 1996, the neighbouring shop unit was acquired and a period of rapid expansion followed. Rails then launched its first website and was pioneering online model railway retail for both new and second hand items. The late-1990s also saw the growth of the’limited edition’ business – with many exclusive liveries commissioned from major manufacturers. Rapid Expansion – 2000. To feed this expanding business, the Barber family scoured the country (and sometimes further afield) acquiring model railway collections. A New Era – 2010. Sadly, Hedley Barber passed away on August 11th 2015, leaving his son John and grandsons Adam and Oliver and John’s wife Tracy to manage the company he founded, with support of other family members and long serving staff. Remaining a family operated business, Rails continued to thrive in the late 2010s. A major milestone was the opening of the impressive show room in 2018, which features beautiful displays of popular locomotives and rolling stock frames amongst real Sheffield steel, stone walling and natural material. This was the catalyst for the refurbishment of the entire’front of house’ shop now occupying five formerly separate units. Rails also branched out into the new areas such as commissioning its own exclusive model product under the new’Rails Limited’ brand, bringing new model to the public such as the Stroudley’Terrier’ steam locomotive with Dapol and North Eastern Railway Electric Autocrat with Heljan. In 2021, Rails opened it all new purpose-built warehouse and offices in Dronfield. The multi-million pound development enable Rails to move all warehousing and administration to this new site to streamline the business and continue to provide customers with the top-tier service they had become accustomed to. In January 2024, Rails acquired Hatton’s Model Railways following its unfortunate closure after many years. Committed to preserving the Hatton’s legacy, Rails is integrating customers with the beloved Hatton’s Directory & product database. Later in 2024, Rails launched the Vintage Toy Shop, showcasing a treasure trove of rare collectables in Sheffield. Rails remains deeply connected to the South Yorkshire community it was established to serve. A True Home-grown Family Business. Learn more about us. Bachmann 31-482 31-482 LNWR G2 574 LNWR Black Steam Locomotive. This Bachmann Branchline model brings the G2 to OO Scale with a high fidelity rendition of the early-twentieth century powerhouse. With an impressive level of detail and a high performance mechanism, the Branchline G2 is the complete package and now for the first time, this model is available with the option of. The model employs a diecast running plate, along with further metal components to provide an impressive weight ensuring the model’s strength and power match its prototype’s. Meanwhile, those components produced in plastic are precision moulded, with details such as rivets and boiler bands crisply reproduced. Separate parts are then added to enhance the authenticity of the model further, from the metal handrails to the whistle and safety valves, each of which are turned brass. The smokebox door is hinged and can be posed open or closed, whilst within the cab, controls, dials and pipework are all moulded authentically and decorated accordingly. The locomotive’s diecast chassis is enhanced with brake blocks, brake rigging and sandboxes with separate wire sandpipes. Driving wheels are cast to the correct LNWR pattern, whilst the third pair of driving wheels are flangeless, as on the real locomotives. Moving to the tender and the locomotive to tender drawbar is adjustable to suit individual layout conditions, whilst electrical connections are incorporated into the drawbar and a poseable fallplate is fitted to the tender – not only is this a prototypical feature but it serves to reduce the visual impact of any gap in this area which may be necessitated by operating conditions. The tender itself is finely moulded, with several separately applied details including the lamp irons, tank vents, fire tool holder and handwheels. A realistic coal load is included whilst the tender chassis includes brake rigging and metal wheelsets are employed. Bachmann Branchline OO Scale. Pristine LNWR Black livery. Powerful 3 Pole Motor. Locomotive Ready to Accept a Speaker. Equipped with a 21 Pin DCC Decoder Socket – Recommend Decoder item No. Length 231mm (over couplings). The G2 was a class of 60 brand new steam locomotives built between 1921-22, and with a boiler generating a pressure of 175psi, they were the most powerful design the LNWR had ever constructed. From 1924 onwards, the G2s were rebuilt with a belpaire boiler which improved performance even further. The entire class passed into BR ownership in 1948, with the first withdrawals beginning in 1959 and the last in 1964. 49395 has been preserved as part of the National Collection, where it has been restored to running order. These rebuilds were virtually indistinguishable from the G2s and were very successful for the LMS, with over 300 examples rebuilt. Although some were downgraded back to a 160psi boiler and reclassified to G1, the majority of the class was inherited by British Railways in 1948, with the last four cut up in 1964. On track, the locomotive doesn’t do anything. However, with connection to the loco-to-tender plug the locomotive thenruns perfectly, with working light too. So has a bad connection from the tender somewhere. You will get what you see, if you don’t see it then it isn’t included. If not sure, please ask me. In particular, if I don’t show or state there is a box, or battery, etc then there isn’t. Please don’t assume there is.
