HOn2-1/2 / HOe Scale World Craft Igasa Railway Koppel #1 Steam Locomotive. This product is a pre-painted and completed model. Igasa Railway Koppel #1 is a steam locomotive built by Koppel for the opening of the Ihara-Kasaoka line in 1913. At that time, many small steam locomotives manufactured by Koppel were imported to Japan, and this model is of a similar design. However, due to the fact that this steam locomotive operates in an area where rainfall is scarce and the number of stations that can be served is limited, a particularly large side tank was added to the coal storage and tool box protruding forward of the cab. The large side tanks are additionally installed to ensure a water tank volume of 1.36 m^3, which is a large capacity for a locomotive of this class. Bagnall and operated by the Sasebo Railway, which once existed. The locomotive was mainly used to transport coal in Nagasaki Prefecture. The inverted saddle tank (a water tank covering the lower part of the boiler) is a unique Bagnall shape, and although Bagnall manufactured many locomotives with this shape, this is the only one that arrived in Japan. HOn2-1/2 / HOe Scale World Craft Saidaiji Railway Koppel #5 Steam Locomotive. This product is a pre-painted and completed model. Saidaiji Railway Koppel #5 is a 7-ton tank steam locomotive built by Koppel in 1910. It features a very tall chimney with an unusual shape reminiscent of a rakkyo, which was intended to prevent fire sparks and soot from falling on the passengers in the carriages. The operating section of the line was extended endlessly, aided by the conditions of the route, which had no tunnels or overpasses, and the limit of the carriages was raised to protrude only around the chimney on the rooftop. Finally, the chimneys reached a height comparable to that of the large steam locomotives owned by Japan National Railways at the time, so much so that the Ministry of Railways, the supervising authority, refused to grant approval on the grounds that the height was excessive. HOn2-1/2 / HOe Scale World Craft Dainippon Railroad Ki-21 Steam Locomotive. This product is a pre-painted and completed model. Dainippon Railroad Ki21 is a steam locomotive with B-type side tanks manufactured by Amamiya Iron Works. The locomotive was commonly known as a “hettui” in Japan because of its short stature and long, narrow chimney due to the difficulty in lowering the center of gravity and weight distribution. Almost the same type of locomotive is on display in the plaza in front of JR Atami Station as a transportation memorial.
