The JGR Class 3255 (originally the Nambu Railway Class 2) is a 2-6-2T Prairie-type side tank steam locomotive operated by the Japanese Government Railways from 1926 to 1948. The Class 3255 was an early steam locomotive operated in Japan. The type was manufactured initially for the Jinchu Railway, with two locomotives manufactured by Kisha Seizo and delivered in 1926; these were numbered 3 and 4. What would later be christened the Class 3255 was a single locomotive built for the Nambu Railway the same year. This locomotive was numbered 2. After the Nambu Railway was acquired by the JGR in 1943, the sole locomotive was classified the Class 3255 and renumbered as such. After the railroad was acquired by the JGR the locomotive saw little use and was scrapped in 1948. The two Jinchu Railway locomotives saw a better fate; they were renumbered 7 and 8 after the railroad was acquired by Sagami Railway, then were resold to the Ena Railway and served until the 1960s. One of these locomotives, Jinchu Railway Class 3, survives today. It is located at the Sagami Railway’s Kashiwadai Depot where it is on static display. For 9 mm Gauge Tracks. 0-4-2 Baldwin Tank Locomotive Kit (Kiso Forest Railway/Nagano, Japan). Please be sure to message us if this item is available before purchasing. This is an advanced kit that requires complex crafting. Item photos show the item painted after assembly and with optional accessories. No other items are included except for the Baldwin kit and the power drive unit. Rear wheels with a wheel diameter of 4 mm are included in the kit. Some modification is required to install the power drive unit. This locomotive was built in 1915 by Baldwin Locomotive Works in the United States. When it was first imported, it had a balanced and graceful appearance. However, the smokestack with a spark arrestor device was unusually large because coal was replaced by wood chips as fuel to save costs. The train operated from 1916, when the Kiso Forest Railway started operation, until 1959. When the Kiso Forest Railway was closed down in 1975, this locomotive was already unable to run on its own, but it is still carefully preserved at the Akazawa Forest Railway in Nagano Prefecture. HIGHLY DETAILED OO9 SCALE MODEL KIT. Ffestiniog Railway Carriages 11 and 12 (1980’s) – Double Pack. This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old. This model kit is of carriages 11 and 12, as running on the Ffestiniog Railway in the 1980’s. These were heavily rebuilt by the preservation movement from the original Vans 4 and 5. Van 4 had the balcony removed and a new observation compartment built at one end, and is now carriage 11. During the 80’s it had ten seats in the observation compartment and also electrical connections at both ends of the vehicle. Van 5 was given new frames and is 5ft longer. During the 80’s the guard’s compartment acted as a kitchen and this was a buffet car named Samuel Holland. It also had three large panoramic windows in the saloon, and one of the guards doors was blocked off for the kitchen workstation. These carriages are usually coupled together in train formations, as they also have a gangway connection at the brake ends. The kit includes three main components – the body side assembly, internal detail and frame, and roof. There is also a sprue of detailing connections. PECO GR-104 bogies and clear perspex are included with the model. You will need modelling tools (such as a craft knife, cutting board, files and micro-drills) adhesive and paints to assemble the kit. This is a highly detailed scale kit built using our in house machines, with High Definition resin and build layers just 50 microns (0.05mm) thick. Whilst there is’stepping’ visible on the parts up close, this is not discernible once the kit is painted and/or from usual viewing distances. The parts have their main supports removed, though detailing and structural supports will remain to protect the parts in transit, and require removing prior to assembly. Some polishing and filing of the parts is required to ensure they fit together without a seam. The carriage includes representation of the interior, including the first class observation compartment in Carriage 11. Brake pipes and electrical connectors are also present at the correct ends and sides of the vehicles, and the gangway ends are also represented. Handles and grab rails are fully detailed, and not moulded to the body. The pack contains both coaches, and the required bogies. Fourdees Limited is not liable for any breakages of parts during assembly of the kit. If parts arrive damaged, please provide photographic evidence and we shall replace the damaged component. 117mm Carriage 12: 137mm (both over coupling hoops).
