Bachmann Liliput L102902 GEE Henschel Fireless Werklok Tank Loco No. 3 – HO Scale. Lovely example of an unusual model in the Bachmann Liliput’First Class’ range – a Henschel Fireless industrial locomotive in bright yellow GEE livery. The unusual shape of the loco was derived from the fact that the prototype had no firebox or boiler, and therefore no chimney. They operated via an injection of superheated water into a condenser from a stationary boiler, which would provide enough steam for a short period of operation. Whilst this limited their utility to the confines of an industrial site such as a large factory or foundry, it offered a variety of unique benefits including cheap operation, low maintenance, single crewing and a lack of smoke or sparks allowing for work in covered or otherwise volatile environments such as explosives works. Has the general quality to be expected of a Liliput First Class loco, with lighting both ends including upper headlight, smooth running with brass drivegear and a nice level of fine detailing. Would make an eye catching addition to any shunting yard scene. In near mint condition in original packaging with paperwork. Appears very lightly used, with coupling pack still sealed and unused.
