Directional lighting works fine. I noticed smoke coming out of the smoke unit before I thought to turn it off. This loco is very finely detailed, much like vintage brass engines. There is a water hatch cover missing on top of the tender that hides the smoke unit control. There are a couple of tiny paint nicks on both units (see PICs). Wheels show light rail time. No other apparent flaws. This engine alone weighs 1 lb. And, with 12 drive wheels and 2 traction bands, it should pull a good size load. It will look great running the rails of your layout. The condition of the zinc castings, boiler, cab, boiler front, pilot, steam chest, etc. Look fine, and show no metal fatigue. The drive wheels do not show any metal fatigue. Small zinc casted wheels have fatigue, chips, etc. -see photos– The original box is in good condition but dirty. It has only 1 number stamped on the box which may have reflected a set number. Here is an elderly oil fired steam engine and its Vanderbilt tender, all brass and steel. The set is from Westside, made by Katsumi Mokeiten Co Japan. The brass surfaces are tarnished but not corroded. Should be just fine for painting with some of cleanup prep. The engine runs great, forward and reverse, fast and slow. Other than its bell, we see nothing missing, nothing damaged, no faults. Comes in the original box with a boiler weight and screws. On our layout it ran properly as-is. This is a rare item and its performance is guaranteed. Williams O Scale Southern Pacific 2-8-8-4 Cab Forward #7002 Brass Boiler Runs, OB. Made by Samhongsa in Korea for Williams. The overall condition is very good. Tested by a Lionel ZW transformer from the 1950’s on a relatively short straight track and runs well. All brass boiler construction. The tender is missing the ladder from the back. It does not list a sound system on the box in the specs however it does make chugging and bell sounds which are a little static. It starts with the bell noise and then starts the chugging noise. This may be all the sounds it makes. The loco has a rub mark and a small scratch on the cab roof and there is a small rub mark on the cab forward platform base under the boiler front. (see photos) Missing one traction tire and the rest are worn and may need replacing. Very nice, detailed engine. Could use a good lubrication and more cleaning. The original box has shelf wear and a crunch on the top seam. The styrofoam had been modified inside the box by a previous owner. 905-72 From the 1940’s here is an AMERICAN FLYER S SCALE #342AC 0–0 NICKEL PLATE ROAD DIE-CAST STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & TENDER SET IN EXCELLENT READY TO RUN CONDITION. The loco features a black painted die-cast boiler and tender that are clean and have no breaks. The loco was layout tested and it is a super runner, the smoke and choo-choo unit work, there is a working headlight and back up light in the tender, the reverse unit works as it should, there are new connecting wires from the tender to the boiler and there is a new link coupler on the tender. The rear hand rails on the tender are missing as are the two small handrails on the front pilot. The loco comes with an original paper wrapper that is in good condition but unstamped.
