P2 class 2-8-2’Cock O The North’ LNER Green’2001. Beautifully made and finished, from a very high quality brass kit. Ran well on test run, has a very high quality escap motor and gearbox. Has been used, so the odd very small mark. The valve gear on one side is bent, but it still runs fine. Please look at last photo. Please look in my shop for other similar OO locos and coaches. (Could have been used but still no marks). NEAR MINT ; only minor marks, few in number, may well look perfect until you look very closely. EXCELLENT ; nice bright condition, but could have more noticeable marks or a little minor damage(say to one or two pieces of trim). GOOD ; fit for purpose on a layout; i. Runs and can be used, but could have lots of small marks and/or more damage. FAIR ; lots of damage, will need some work to bring up to standard. POOR; really only suited for spares or major repair. All items will be securely and safely packaged for transit; I use tissue paper, bubble wrap and stout card to ensure every item will reach you in the condition it leaves me. Please bear this is mind when comparing prices. Please check my feedback for the quality of items I sell, the accuracy of description and standard of packaging. PRO-SCALE KIT BUILT BRASS LNER P2 2-8-2 LOCOMOTIVE KIT INCL WHEELS. This is an unstarted kit. Includes wheels, engraved plates (Cock of the North), and sprung buffers. The kit is in good order, but the plastic bags and tissue paper is a little worn / soiled. I have not unwrapped all of the brass frets that are in tissue as they are as originally packed.

Steam Train Model Locomotive Class A4 Mallard 4468 LNER Hornby 1:120 Scale TT. The LNER Gresley A4 is one of the most iconic express locomotives in Great Britain, with its streamlined casing a classic symbol of the attitude towards speed and design in the 1930s, which saw increased competition to the railways from road and air travel. The LNER Board knew that they had to make travel between the major cities faster, comfortable and more reliable. Nigel Gresley, the LNER’s Chief Mechanical Officer, travelled on the Fliegende Hamburger diesel locomotive in Germany and was impressed by its streamlining, although he realized it was only efficient at high speeds. Gresley was certain that a modified A3 Pacific, with streamlining, could haul greater loads than other locomotives at the same speed or faster and a series of trials were conducted to confirm the A3’s suitability. With the trials successfully completed, the LNER Board gave Gresley the go-ahead to create the “Silver Jubilee” streamlined trains, the first of the new streamlined A4s. The streamlining of the A4s’ steam circuit, higher boiler pressure and extension of the firebox to create a combustion chamber made them more efficient than the A3 as they consumed less coal and water- especially later on when they were also fitted with a Kylchap double chimney. This improved their free steaming capabilities further. Their streamlined design not only made them capable of high speeds, but created an up draught of smoke, obscuring the driver’s vision, a major problem on the new Class A4 engines. The story goes that during wind tunnel testing, after several unsuccessful efforts to get the smoke to lift clear, a thumbprint was inadvertently left on the clay model just behind the chimney. This succeeded in clearing the smoke and was incorporated into the final design. The most famous of these A4 locomotives is surely 4468 Mallard, the locomotive that broke and still holds the world record for the highest speed achieved by a steam locomotive. This record was achieved at the height of the streamlined battle between Gresley’s A4 and the Streamline Coronation of Stanier’s LMS. Mallard would go onto serve under BR as 60022 before being withdrawn in early 1963 having been earmarked for preservation as early as 1960, its historical significance recognised and understood. Hornby R2340 Golden Plover LNER A4 Locomotive + 3 LNER Coaches (OO scale)
This Hornby R2340 train pack contains an LNER A4 60031 steam locomotive in BR Lined Green livery with Late Crest. The motor is in good working condition, but a fault sometimes occurs in which the unit gets stuck despite the motor running (will require repairs or lubrication). Other than this the unit is in near-perfect condition with no cosmetic damage. The locomotive comes with 3 LNER coaches as provided in the Hornby 2435’Northumbrian’ train pack. The coaches are in near perfect cosmetic condition but the wheelset & coupling clip is missing from one of the coaches (can easily be replaced). GAUGE: OO scale CONDITION: needs minor repairs but no cosmetic damage BOXED?
