OK RGS Fans – Here is a beautiful example form the PSC Run of RGS #22’s. Originally a Florence & Cripple Creek Locomotive. Sister locomotive #20 has been fully restored and now runs at the Colorado Railroad Museum. This example is special. She is especially clean and has had extra details added such as the screen on the cap stack and an amber headlight lens that does function. The tender has coal in the bunker and professionally installed marker lights with jewel lenses on the rear of the tender. There is a water pouch hanging outside the firemen’s window of the cab which is very prototypical from the narrow gauge and in general steam days as the cabs were so hot this was a way to keep the water somewhat cool and refreshing for the crew! The whole package has been tastefully weathered. The drivers are clean – appear light run time or has been serviced and maintained. She runs in forward and reverse with good slow speed control and no hesitation. She is DC currently but there is room in the tender and boiler for a Tsunami II steam 2 decoder installation and the new TCS Keep -Alive Capacitors will also fit. All brass locomotives require a bit of knowledge and TLC – weather it be tuning, re-gearing, updating to DCC, other servicing, etc… I was originally planning a DCC conversion for this loco and can make a reliable recommendation to anyone who is interested for that service. The locomotive is operational we did not test the smoke function. The only damage we could find was on the coal car the rear ladder appears to be missing one side of the upper loop clearly shown in photo’s. The entire thing is brass and it is again all there. The original box and packaging is in very good condition with no rips or tears in the box, and only few minor scuffs here and there. It reads “Rio Grande HOn3 2-8-0 K-27″. As for condition again we are not experts and we have done our best to provide photo’s of the item for you to make your decision. United Scale Brass HOn3 D&RGW K-27 2-8-2 Full Back Head Detail! New in the box, complete with baggie of screws and such. Lots of fine detail on this engine, please look closely at the photo’s. By Atlas Industries Japan 1977 Run. Original Box and Packing in great condition. These are not toys and most are over 40 years old. Please note that I do not have the ability or inclination to test each and every one of these units. My dad never owned a piece of track and did not get to realize his Great Northern railroad in his retirement so, good or bad, these locomotives are as he bought them all those years ago. Having said that, there may be issues that are well known in the community with deteriorating plastic parts or known mechanical or quality control issues with manufacturers over the years that are well documented on the internet. This is a wonderful hobby and I’ve met many fabulous people so I certainly don’t want any unhappy customers.
