This is the O-scale Lionel 6-38028 Pennsylvania S-2 Steam Turbine #6200 6-8-6, 3 rail. This has been very slightly run. Stored in the box with no dust or damage. Test run on AC only did NOT test the Command Control. This is a magnificent item. This monster is 30Inches long! Powered by a 6900 horsepower Westinghouse direct steam turbine engine, the Pennsylvania S-2 was one of the first attempts at holding on to the age of steam. The constant torque of the rotary turbine eliminated the power loss found in the reciprocating parts of a conventional steam locomotive. Even though the massive 6-8-6 weighed almost one million pounds, the S-2 exceeded the performance of a 6000 horsepower diesel above forty miles per hour. Our model features newly enhanced tooling. Weve added many new separately applied details, most noticeably a set of elephant ear smoke deflectors that equipped the S-2 in its later life. The cab interior includes a flickering firebox and cab window glass. This listing is for a Key Imports N-Scale Custom Series #121 Brass Engine; NEW YORK CENTRAL 4-6-4 “Dryfuss Hudson” 1938 version with rd#5449 used for the 20th Century Limited passenger train. This is a gorgeous engine, the detail is fantastic and paintwork excellent. Engine is in excellent condition, nothing broken, no chips or scratches. It has been sitting in it’s box for around twenty years, the wheels are very clean indicating little or no use. When tested it was a little stiff until it ran a few feet then started to loosen up. I applied one drop of lubricant to the exposed gear and ran it a few more feet with much improvement, (should not require any lubricant for a while). Like most older brass engines, the more they are used the better they run. Headlight works fine, box and foam are in excellent condition, very hard piece in this condition to come by! PFM Crown Brass HO Scale- Chesapeake and Ohio Class H-8 Steam Locomotive 2-6-6-6 , New Old Stock. This is a very special Locomotive bought new in’82 Lot’s of detailed pieces. Please look at the photo’s, very impressive. Original Box and Packing, Foam in good shape. These are not toys and most are over 40 years old. Please note that I do not have the ability or inclination to test each and every one of these units. My dad never owned a piece of track and did not get to realize his Great Northern railroad in his retirement so, good or bad, these locomotives are as he bought them all those years ago. Having said that, there may be issues that are well known in the community with deteriorating plastic parts or known mechanical or quality control issues with manufacturers over the years that are well documented on the internet. This is a wonderful hobby and I’ve met many fabulous people so I certainly don’t want any unhappy customers.
