Rare Steamlines Garden Railway Live Steam Locomotive 45mm 16mm Scale Project

Here we have a rare and unusual “Steamlines” / American Locomotive Company live steam locomotive in 45mm Gauge (G Gauge). There was three different engines in this range, a Barclay called Aileen / Little Giant, a French one called Kidd and this an American outline one which was a “Dixie”. G on air briefly, but since then I think have altered something on the valve gear, as since then I have been unable to get it back to a running condition. Called Black Knight, its has one nameplate missing from a side tank. Dates from the early 1990’s. Steamlines was the last. Of Tom Cooper (Merlin). Chassis is CNC machined from a single piece of. RARE OLDER General Models Corporation O scale brass two rail 2-6-6-4 Allegheny steam locomotive. Locomotive has partially green and silver boiler with the remaining black. Locomotive is in C5 condition with one partially detached set of drivers which needs one screw to repair. One of the compressors on the front will need to be straightened. The tender frame is an A&S casting. Also included is the original instruction booklet for the model. And it has its original carrying case. Examples of these are rare and it will make a beautiful model with some work. RARE Vintage Lobaugh LMT Brass O scale 2-8-4 (C&NW) Steam Loco TLC

Lobaugh made all their own parts, even the motor has a Lobaugh name tag. They were the 1. To utilize 2 rail power pick-up from both the engine and the tender; thus, the wiring between the 2 units. They are very heavy units, for their day, with the engine weighing 6 lbs. And the tender at 2 lbs. The loco is set up to operate on 2 rail DC track; however according to the website mentioned above, it could be converted to 3 rail AC. I tested it on a test track and got no response. I tried switching the plug-ins and got no response. I removed the engine shell (2 screws in the rear and 1 screw in the front) and touched power leads directly to the motor. It hummed and acted like it wanted to turn; but, there was just not enough power. The motor is free, I could easily turn it by hand. The loco shows a fair amount of fine detail, especially for its age. I did notice some paint scratches and other flaws. Front right marker light is missing screw mounted bracket is still there. Left rear tender step is missing. Solder spill on tender axle from making a wire connection. Front engine truck has a solder repair at the left wheel. Light surface rust spots on tender wheels and axles. 3 engine brakes are missing. The website mentioned above says Lobaugh locos were considered mechanical masterpieces and many of todays scratch engine builders prefer parts from these locos. I dont think it would take much to restore this loco in lieu of using it for parts. Because of the size of this package 11-12 lbs. Check out my other listings by clicking on.
