Howell Day Central New Jersey Camelback. 4-6-0 Steam Engine and Tender. This engine was tested and it would not move. I hear the engine revving, but the unit doesn’t move properly. The rubber drivetrain has deteriorate and needs replacing. Unit is nice and clean with minimal, if any, track time. Unit does have some tarnishing. This box has some shelf wear and aging with partially peeled label. Please review the pictures. Let me know if you have any questions. NJ Custom Brass Reading 4-6-0 Class L7sb locomotive and tender made by KSM in Korea and imported in 1982. Model has a replacement gear box with torque arm and Sagami can motor. It runs smooth and quiet in both directions and is mechanically solid. Model was previously painted and had modifications for sound. Model was stripped and has tarnished. Holes were added in locomotive behind headlight and under rear deck for wiring, and in tender bottom for sound. The fireman side step is missing from pilot. Original box has taped corners and replaced foam. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam as needed, use additional padding, water proof, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap and air pillows. I use oversized boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains! A couple of notes. This will alert me to invoice you with an adjusted total. I take packing seriously! I use bubble wrap, plenty of packing material, and sturdy boxes. This is a custom-built Central Railroad of New Jersey 2-6-2 Camelback. It is built using a Bachmann 2-6-2, and still has the stock Rapido couplers. It is a DC locomotive. It has its original Bachmann jewel-case with the insert modified to accommodate the custom Camelback shell. Engine has been tested with analog DC control on a club layout using an MRC Tech 2 power-pack and runs fine in both the forward and reverse directions at reasonable speeds. The locomotive has been in storage for a few years, so it could benefit from a proper run-in period before entering regular service on your layout.
