4-4-2 Steam Engine and Tender. I love the looks of this set. Set was tested and it worked nice. This unit is factory painted and comes with a model specifics pamphlet. The pamphlet highlights the history of the actual engine as well as the specifics of this model. Specifics of this set. This set is 10 1/4 inches. Weight is 16 ounces. Motor is a 19mm can motor. 900 units were imported in May 1976. The box has the red foam that has discolored so many brass trains. This set has been protected in plastic. Bachmann G Scale Spectrum #81198 Ely Thomas 36T, 2 Truck Shay Engine, OB. It has been tested and runs. The overall condition is excellent, it is very clean and the paint looks great. It doesn’t look like this locomotive had much rail time, it must have spent most of it’s life in the box. The cowcatcher under the coupler is detached on 1 side. (See photo) and a tiny hook under the cab number 5 needs to be re-attached as well. (See photo) A drop of a good plastic glue and a steady hand will easily re-attach them. The front and rear directional headlights both work as designed. The original box has minor shelf wear. Lubrication is very important! The Bachmann video for lubrication instruction is included in the box. This is a very detailed, nice looking locomotive.
