Here is an Accucraft AC77-201 1:20.3 Scale Open Cab Live Steam Shay Locomotive. This item features metal constructi… This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. This locomotive is in incredible condition! There are a couple of minor scuff marks on the roof and one on the side of the engine. Even though there are a couple of faint imperfections, this locomotive will make an impressive addition to any collection! The original box is not included. There is a certificate included. Check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Excellent. Accucraft AC77-201 1:20.3 Scale Open Cab Live Steam Shay Locomotive EX. This item features metal construction, motor, and metal wheels. Please see my pictures for additional features. Shay locomotives were developed by Ephraim Shay. His first successful engine that we would recognize today as a Shay locomotive was produced in 1880 by Lima Machine Works (later, Lima Locomotive Works), who would go on to produce approximately 2,700 up until 1945, when production ceased. Shay locomotives are unusual in that they are powered by a steam engine of either two or three cylinders mounted vertically near the cab on the right side of the locomotive (although there were a very few with the engine on the left). The boiler was offset on the frame to counterbalance the weight of the engine. The engine drove a drive shaft that, through flexible couplings, turned bevel gears that engaged the wheels. This type of engine is known as a geared engine, since the wheels turn at a different rate from the engine, due to the gear ratio. This arrangement made the engine very flexible and able to negotiate raggedy track without derailing. Because of this characteristic as well as its great power, it was an exceeding popular engine with logging companies and other industries that relied on tough engines in unforgiving situations. Accucraft Live Steam Locomotive -Wrekin-G gauge-16mm Scale-SM32-Garden railway. I’ve finally decided to part with my Accucraft Wrekin in order to fund a new loco. I’ve also fitted new piston rings to the cylinders and have had the safety valve serviced by David Mees. The cab fittings have also been painted black to tone them down. The engine has also been blinged up with a djb safety valve bonnet and various detailing castings like sandboxes/airpump. Please note the engines sight glass is currently blocked for some reason and needs some kettle descaler to clear it. The engine comes with its gas and boiler certificates and all the RC gear apart from a transmitter I use the same transmitter across my different engines. The engine is fitted with a flysky receiver. This engine is a lovely runner and will happily run along with a nice long train of coaches. Please note that the name plates will be removed prior to sale and additional footage of the engine running is available on request. 7/8ths Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes 0-4-4 Forney #6. The Portland Company constructed 0-4-4 Forney #5 in 1891 for the Sandy River Railroad. The locomotive was named N. Neal and operated this way until 1908 when the Sandy River, Franklin & Megantic, Philips & Rangeley, along with their respective subsidiary railroads merged to form the Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes. At this time the loco was renumbered to SR&RL #6. In December 1994, an agreement was reached with the estate for WW&F #9 and its return to Maine for eventual restoration. Over the course of several years the loco was restored and is now featured in regular excursion over a restored section of the railroad. 7/8ths Scale / 45 mm Gauge. They had already been allocated fleet numbers which were retained by the new owners but it was only when the ex-contractors engine No. 18 Ailsa was officially numbered in 2005 that the fleet had ever been in correct sequence. These railcars have been the subject of much controversy in the late 1990s when their over-budget rebuild was brought to a halt by incoming management and since this time no work has been done on them. The preservationist group Isle of Man Steam Railway Supporters Association have campaigned for their completion, especially in conjunction with a potential commuter train services between Port Erin, Castletown and Douglas, which would extend the service that is laid on annually by the railway in connection with the T. The TT Commuter service is currently run using a steam locomotive and hauled stock, which leads to high operating costs. A shift in management attitude could see their return to service in the future, but for the time being, they remain in store at Douglas station awaiting completion and return to service. In 2005 The War Office Locomotive Society repatriated No. 1215 from Australia and its restoration is nearly complete. The model is internally gas fired and has slide valve cylinders.
