Accucraft Trains – D&RGW C-25 2-8-0, 1:20.3 Scale, Live Steam, Butane or Coal. This locomotive, a 2-8-0 or Consolidation type, originally existed as # 103 of the Crystal River Railroad, a narrow gauge line located in the Elk Mountains of central Colorado. It was built in 1903 as C/N 21757 of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, had 33 drivers, 18×20 cylinders, and a tractive effort just short of 25,000 pounds. It was a standard Baldwin design, and other narrow gauge locos of this size and type were built for railroads in the Western Hemisphere. Originally the locomotive was a class 112, this number reflecting the total weight of the locomotive, but eventually the D&RGW changed the classification numbers of their locomotives to reflect their tractive effort, and thus the classification of C-25. Interestingly, for a while the cab of this loco carried C-25-112 as its classification. The C-25 was affectionately known as the Baby Mudhen because its pulling power was close to that of the K-27 class, those engines being known as Mudhens. The 375 when it was put into service in 1916 was the best steamer on the railroad at that time. Sadly, on June 21, 1949 the one and only C-25 on the D&RGW was scrapped at Alamosa, Colorado. 1:20.3 Scale / 45 mm Gauge. Brass & Stainless Steel Construction. (1.2 M) Mini. I have decided to sell my DJB Coal Fired (Accucraft) Ragleth. Its runs extremely well, as one would expect from a DJB Coal Fired. Whilst I really do enjoy coal firing, the large form factor it really is chunky! Of the Accucraft Ragleth doesnt really fit in with the sort of stuff I run. I end up carrying around extra rolling stock if Im running coal and the whole thing is a bit too much effort! Also, beginning to get together a house deposit so a couple of items from the collection are going to fund that. Overall in very good condition, although cab roof has been modified to allow you to see the pressure gauge more easily. Black paintwork means it lasts a couple of runs before looking too grotty usually. Firing tools and blower are included for the asking price, as is a large wooden carry box and some coal/charcoal. I also have a safety valve bonnet and spare quick-fill connector which I will include for the asking price. Obviously I can post, but given that all the tools and carry case etc. Are to be included – I would recommend collection and of course we can steam it up and go over some basics of running coal fired if thats new to you! The information below is taken directly from the DJB website. New coal fired multi tube boiler with, Regulator, Safety valve, Water Gauge and Pump feed Clack Valve, Whistle, uses the Pressure gauge off the original engine. Crosshead driven pump with by-pass valve and Quick fill connector. Stainless grate and Ashpan. Original Lubricator is used. All pipework to connect :- Lubricator, Blower and Main Steam Pipe. Uses original Ragleth smokebox and Chimney. Boiler Cladding Sheet in brass. Etched inner side tanks to hold water for the pump with balance pipe. Any questions, just ask!
