Accucraft Trains – D&RGW C-25 2-8-0, 1:20.3 Scale, Live Steam, Butane or Coal. This locomotive, a 2-8-0 or Consolidation type, originally existed as # 103 of the Crystal River Railroad, a narrow gauge line located in the Elk Mountains of central Colorado. It was built in 1903 as C/N 21757 of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, had 33 drivers, 18×20 cylinders, and a tractive effort just short of 25,000 pounds. It was a standard Baldwin design, and other narrow gauge locos of this size and type were built for railroads in the Western Hemisphere. Originally the locomotive was a class 112, this number reflecting the total weight of the locomotive, but eventually the D&RGW changed the classification numbers of their locomotives to reflect their tractive effort, and thus the classification of C-25. Interestingly, for a while the cab of this loco carried C-25-112 as its classification. The C-25 was affectionately known as the Baby Mudhen because its pulling power was close to that of the K-27 class, those engines being known as Mudhens. The 375 when it was put into service in 1916 was the best steamer on the railroad at that time. Sadly, on June 21, 1949 the one and only C-25 on the D&RGW was scrapped at Alamosa, Colorado. 1:20.3 Scale / 45 mm Gauge. Brass & Stainless Steel Construction. (1.2 M) Mini. AL88-118B Colorado & Southern. 71 Large Scale (1:20.3) 2-8-0 steam locomotive with tender and snow plow (electric version not live steam) Serial No. Heavy brass and steel construction. Model has had light use but is otherwise in great, original condition. Two minor issues: 1 a visor is missing above one of the cab windows and 2 most of the windows have come off and are loose or missing (not uncommon). Easily replaced by cutting new windows from thin acrylic sheet. Inner boxes included, one for locomotive and one for tender. Locomotive will be carefully packed in bubble wrap with foam under wheels and around snow plow to prevent damage (the snow plow on this one is perfect, not typically the case). It is a 2-part loco. I have the 2 original boxes in EX condition with the protective Styrofoam cases and protective paper & plastic wrappings. No instructions; but, I dont think it ever had any. Operation is pretty straight forward. Pittman 0-24v DC motor. Brass & stainless steel construction. Superbly detailed and articulated model. Quality paint and lettering. Radius = 4 ft. Measures 27 x 4 ½ x 6 ¼. I tested the loco on a 10 section of track and it ran well in F & R. Directional lighting works fine. The loco is dusty with a couple of dirt smudges. Wheels show a little rail time. The black paint trim shows some light wear/scratches (see pictures). No apparent cracks, breaks, corrosion, or missing parts. Because of the size of this package 12-13 lbs. Please be specific about what you want to see. Accucraft Trains’Dolgoch’ 0-4-0T, 119 Scale, Live Steam

Some years ago we were approached to produce all the Talyllyn Railway locomotives as a commission and although this never came to fruition we had worked up the concepts and designs with a view to producing them of our own accord. Due to developments within the trade we have decided that, rather than waste all this effort, we would bring the first of these, Dolgoch, to the market in 2019. Dolgoch was built by Fletcher, Jennings & Co. In 1866 and is one of the oldest locomotives still in active service. A well tank locomotive with a long wheelbase and the driving axle is behind the firebox, Dolgoch was fitted with an unconventional form of Allan valve gear, driven from the leading coupled axle and doubled back to connect to the valve rods. The locomotive was renamed Pretoriabetween about 1900 and 1914 in celebration of the relief of that township in South Africa by Lord Roberts during the Boer War. It then reverted to the original name Dolgoch. For most of the Railways life, names were painted only on the North side of the locomotives (the platform face). Polished brass nameplates have only been carried in preservation. In early 1945, Dolgoch was sent to the Atlas Foundry in Shrewsbury to be overhauled. At this time, the railways only other locomotive Talyllyn was so worn out it could not be safely operated and services on the railway were suspended. Dolgoch was the only operable locomotive from 1945 until 1952, when Edward Thomas was restored for use. Between 1954 and 1963, the locomotive underwent a major overhaul. After receiving a new boiler in 2011, it ran in Crimson Lake livery until 2015 when along with its sister locomotive Talyllyn it was repainted in Indian Red livery which is thought to be a close approximation to the colour carried by these locomotives when delivered by Fletcher Jennings in the 1860s. A percentage of the retail profit from each sale will be donated to the Talyllyn Railway for the future overhaul of Dolgoch, a higher percentage if the model is bought direct from Accucraft UK Ltd. We would like to acknowledge the help we have received from Talyllyn Railway members in preparing the drawings for this model. The model is built to a scale of 16mm:1 (1:19 scale) and follows our standard design brief being internally gas-fired with a centre flue boiler. The model will not be gauge adjustable but will be available in either 32mm (O gauge) or 45mm (1 gauge) and will not have insulated wheels. The axles run in bronze bearings and all the rods and valve gear (simplified Stephenson) will be manufactured from stainless steel. The cab roof flips up and over sideways to give access to the gas and water, the lubricator filler is in one of the bunkers. The copper boiler is fitted with a gauge glass (with blow down) and the displacement lubricator has an under-floor drain valve. The model is built from stainless steel and brass. Although fitted with TR buffers and couplings the model will be supplied with a pair of our Z2 chopper couplings for those who wish to use them. This locomotive was Accucraft’s own display model – hence the photograph of it on display. Lovely performer, with factory fitted RC. A bit like a Lady Anne, but more attractive in my view with it’s Hunslet-esque appearance and twin miniature safety valves, brass dome and copper capped chimney. Has the added bonus of a water gauge too. The only improvements I’ve made are a fine thread gas valve, a water fill valve and improved RC Transmitter and receiver – now 2.4Ghz (C3-STX pro 2.4 FHSS). Accucraft’s RC set-up allows easy manual control, if required. Here is the description from their website. Can be provided with water bottle if required. Also full instructions for use. A Black Mamod 0-4-0T Locomotive. It is fitted with an aftermarket meths burner and displacement lubricator. Can be picked up from Wrexham or will post. The burner wick material is unknown, but works very well. Can supply without wicks if the purchaser would rather fit their own. I’ve been advised that the loco is fitted with Mike Chaney modified pistons with O ring seals. Also that the burner is a Coke/Chaney design. This info by someone who did work for Mike Chaney.
