Up for sale is a. Max Gray Brass 4-6-4 NYC J3a Dreyfuss Hudson Steam Engine O-Scale 2-Rail – TESTED – w/BOX. RARE, used, in decent overall condition. Brass has tarnish in many places, but overall good shape for the age. There may be some missing details or imperfections. Nothing that stands out besides the tarnish. The engine has been tested, serviced, and runs. Lights do not appear to work. Brake shoes are not factory insulated and can short the wheels out if they are not perfectly centered between wheels. New owner might consider insulating the brake shoes at some point. Wheels show minor wear. Both engine and tender are well secured in factory original box. Box has some major wear and handwriting on it. Extra protective cushion may be added inside the foam insert to keep the item from shifting around. This is a Legendary Lionel 763E Semi-Scale Hudson… This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. This locomotive and tender are in AMAZING shape! This would be graded EXCELLENT if not for a few minor issues. The locomotive is missing the drawbar pin. The headlight lens is cracked. There is a nick in the boiler by the whistle. There are a few nicks on the loco. The tender wires have been soldered. One wire is bare. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. Check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Very Good. Lionel 763E Vintage O Lionel Lines Semi-Scale Hudson Steam Locomotive w/2226W T. This is a Legendary Lionel 763E Semi-Scale Hudson Steam Locomotive with Tender from 1937-42. This is the Semi-Scale Version of the famous 700E Scale Hudson. It differs from the 700e in having wheel flanges which work on regular Lionel tubular track, fewer piping and accessory details on the engine, and a smaller tender. Despite the reduction in attachments from the 700E, the engine features an enormous amount of detail. The tender has a whistle, and the locomotive has the 3-position e-unit. It will only run on curves 72 inch diameter or larger. The 763 ranks just behind the 700E on many collector’s wish lists. This is a great chance to own one of the most legendary model railroad locomotives ever produced. Minor scratches and paint nicks, minor surface rust, no dents. Lionel O Gauge 763E black semi-scale Hudson locomotive and 2226W tender from circa 1941-2. Loco has been serviced and works well; tender whistle works. Castings are all good. Frame is straight and theres a nice gap under the cowcatcher (see photos). 2226W tender is known for having a high coupler. Paint is in Excellent to Excellent Plus (C7 to C7+) condition, however the lettering on the loco is a bit weak. In overall Excellent (C7) condition. Great for the operator to run on a layout!
