The Popular Hudson Steam Locomotive by ALCO are one of the most Popular Steam Locos in the Later Days of Steam, still talked about often and probably One of the most Liked as well. This Engine came out in 2001 as part of the Scale TMCC Locomotive Line for Lionel.. The Engine is an O Scale 3-Rail Very Highly Detailed Die Cast Body with Die Cast & Metal Frame, Die Cast Trucks and Metal Wheels. This listing is for a Key Imports N-Scale Custom Series #121 Brass Engine; NEW YORK CENTRAL 4-6-4 “Dryfuss Hudson” 1938 version with rd#5449 used for the 20th Century Limited passenger train. This is a gorgeous engine, the detail is fantastic and paintwork excellent. Engine is in excellent condition, nothing broken, no chips or scratches. It has been sitting in it’s box for around twenty years, the wheels are very clean indicating little or no use. When tested it was a little stiff until it ran a few feet then started to loosen up. I applied one drop of lubricant to the exposed gear and ran it a few more feet with much improvement, (should not require any lubricant for a while). Like most older brass engines, the more they are used the better they run. Headlight works fine, box and foam are in excellent condition, very hard piece in this condition to come by! SMOKE, SOUND, SPEED CONTROL DCS, AC, DC. PICK UPS ARE NEW AND ARE STURDY ENOUGH WITHOUT SCREWS, UNLESS YOU’RE 4-WHEELING, OFF ROAD AND JUMPING BURMS. It does need traction tires, but runs fine without. The bell is missing and the bracket is there, but broke. BOX IS QUITE WORN, BUT THE FOAM DOES IT’S JOB.
