For those that are interested in railroad history, the history of the New Haven Railroad is one big soap opera, “a real train wreck” (poor choice of words) but the mark this railroad left on the New England states still fascinates a new generation of railfans and modelers which is why the Division Point still continues to produce New Haven models today though the railroad has been gone for almost 45 years. Offered here is the New Haven 0511, an Alco RS2 equipped with a steam generator and train control equipment. I have one 0505 left but ask first as I do train shows also and that one may disappear. The locomotive is finished in Pullman green and orange, as delivered by Alco in 1948. The locomotive you will receive is the one pictured and it will come in its original box and is ready to run. Though I unwrapped it for the photos you will be the first one to open the throttle. Let me know what you are looking for and I see some more CNJ RSD4s and Cotton Belt RS3s in your future. I even found some Tiger Striped Southern Pacific RSD5’s. In stock are RS2 and RS3 locomotives decorated for the D&H, SP NYC, NYNH&H, LIRR and many more including the last of the Denver & Rio Grande Passenger Cars. N Scale Key/Yulim (Korea) Brass 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Super Rare In Custom Case NEW. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. N Scale Key/Yulim (Korea) Brass 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Super Rare In Custom Case. TRACK TESTED AND SERVICED NEW. REAL NICE SHAPE NOTHING BROKEN. KEY YULIM BRASS 2-8-2 MIKADO. I don’t know what the whole “Yulim” story is, but whatever the case, they had a relatively brief career as far as N scale brass locomotives are concerened (consisting solely of these Mikados and a 4-8-4 Northern). Nevertheless, these are fine looking models that perform admirably. The locomotive chassis is all metal and fairly minimalistic (with most of the actual heft being provided by the shell). The motor is an open-sided, straight-wound 5-poler. Current is transferred from the tender to the motor via the metal drawbar (aided by a stiff metal wire affixed to said drawbar). Only the center pair of drivers are geared (the others being turned solely by the valve gear). Apart from the brass worm gear, all the gearing is plastic. There is no lighting. A dummy (non-opertional) coupler is mounted to the pilot. There is no coupler on the tender, although a Micro-Trains friendly pocket is provided. Wheels are low profile, so no problems on Code-55 rails. The second pair of drivers (from the front) is equipped with traction tires. And in an odd switch, a replacement driver pair is included in the box – but also with traction tires! Despite the relatively primitive electrical conductivity scheme (IE, the drawbar), overall performance is quite solid. It runs smoothly and quietly at all throttle levels. No problems derailing on narrow radius curves. On the minor quibble front, the top-end speed is excessive (so, y’know, don’t give it that much throttle). But overall, they’re very nice looking steamers that certainly run well enough to join an operational fleet. International Buyers – Please Note.
