This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. This brass locomotive and tender showcase exquisite detail! Areas have been lubricated that were accessible without having to remove the shell. The DCC address is cab #3829. Digitrax DH142 decoder is in the locomotive. The tender body/truck contacts have been cleaned. Bench test good in DC and DCC. This item has been custom weathered. There are a couple of minor scratches and paint imperfections. Even though there are some minor imperfections, this brass engine will make an impressive addition to any collection! The original box is included with the liner, which is in excellent condition. Beautiful and highly detailed brass model. Condition is pretty good. It’s been in storage for ages, the model was wrapped in good plastic and there is no rot. Pictures show all the detail. I got this at an estate sale, so I can’t be sure, but the wheels show no sign of wear so I think it’s been in storage since new. I ran it on my tiny test track (I only have a few feet of HO track) and at a slow speed it’s a bit noisy. I suspect it needs lube, and I understand these old brass models required some run in to get smooth running. Track is not included. Westside Model Company Southern Pacific Class AC-4 Cab Forward 4-8-8-2 Locomotive and tender made in Japan by Katsumi and imported in 1977. The model is in great mechanical condition; it runs smooth and quiet. It has Sagami can motor and upgraded drivelines. Wheels show use wear, some plating is worn and brass has tarnish. Box has corner wear and has been repaired with tape. Reboxx foam and wraps. Model will be additionally supported in box and packed with care due to size and weight. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam as needed, use additional padding, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap and air pillows. I use oversized boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains!
