Now, over half a century later, an updated version of this classic locomotive speeds down the American Flyer mainline. Using many of the original tooling dies, the 4-8-4 Northern is constructed almost entirely of die-cast metal. This new reissue also includes the RailSounds sound system complete with whistle, bell and synchronized chuffing features. For operators who prefer a more traditional effect, the RailSounds sound system can be shut off revealing the rhythmic Choo-Choo sound of the mechanical puffing smoke unit. Features include operating couplers, classic A.
