Lionel OO/00 gauge 2 rail semi-scale set with 004 locomotive, 004W tender, 0074 box car, 0075 silver tank car & 0077 caboose. The loco is rubber-stamped 5432 in silver below the cab window, and 004 on the inside of the cab roof. Came with a twelve wheel New York Central tender stamped 004W on the bottom. Includes the original box for the 0074 box car. This set is for use on two rail track. This example is in Excellent (C7) condition. The engine probably has the wrong screws on front & rear trucks (see pictures). The motor runs but definitely need servicing. The E unit lockout pin is missing so loco runs forward only. The large drivers gave the locomotive a high top speed; the telling mark of a steam engine built for passenger service. The GS-4 was built for the Southern Pacific Railroad by the Lima Locomotive Works and delivered in the early 1940s for the SPs premier passenger trains, finding its way to the Daylight series of name trains. One of the more unique specifications for the GS-4 by the SP was its Mars light, a necessity with the large amount of grade crossings and fog present on the West Coast. The Mars light, like ditch lights on modern locomotives, was utilized as a warning for grade crossings that a high speed train was approaching, its shifting light patterns serving as an eye catcher in foggy conditions. About the BNSF Black Excursion Version: In 2000, the Daylight was repainted black and silver for a Burlington Northern Santa Fe employee appreciation special. This train excursion went through Seattle, Washington and then east into Montana before heading back to her home in Portland, Oregon. United Brass/PFM HO Scale Sierra RR 2-6-6-2 Mallet Steam Loco & Tender. Very nice articulated brass Mallet for the Sierra. Has very little if any runtime. Bench tested and serviced lubricated. Found to run very well. Articulation is free and solid. All details appear attached and solid. Item does have quite a bit of patina. Earlier brass not clear coated. This is fairly common on United Brass. Has very nice piping and other detail. Is solid mesh gearing for transfer to common dual gear drives. IMO as far as drive gear noise level I’d say about 6 out of 10. Original solid box has replacement foam.
