N Scale Key/Yulim (Korea) Brass 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Super Rare In Custom Case NEW. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. N Scale Key/Yulim (Korea) Brass 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Super Rare In Custom Case. TRACK TESTED AND SERVICED NEW. REAL NICE SHAPE NOTHING BROKEN. KEY YULIM BRASS 2-8-2 MIKADO. I don’t know what the whole “Yulim” story is, but whatever the case, they had a relatively brief career as far as N scale brass locomotives are concerened (consisting solely of these Mikados and a 4-8-4 Northern). Nevertheless, these are fine looking models that perform admirably. The locomotive chassis is all metal and fairly minimalistic (with most of the actual heft being provided by the shell). The motor is an open-sided, straight-wound 5-poler. Current is transferred from the tender to the motor via the metal drawbar (aided by a stiff metal wire affixed to said drawbar). Only the center pair of drivers are geared (the others being turned solely by the valve gear). Apart from the brass worm gear, all the gearing is plastic. There is no lighting. A dummy (non-opertional) coupler is mounted to the pilot. There is no coupler on the tender, although a Micro-Trains friendly pocket is provided. Wheels are low profile, so no problems on Code-55 rails. The second pair of drivers (from the front) is equipped with traction tires. And in an odd switch, a replacement driver pair is included in the box – but also with traction tires! Despite the relatively primitive electrical conductivity scheme (IE, the drawbar), overall performance is quite solid. It runs smoothly and quietly at all throttle levels. No problems derailing on narrow radius curves. On the minor quibble front, the top-end speed is excessive (so, y’know, don’t give it that much throttle). But overall, they’re very nice looking steamers that certainly run well enough to join an operational fleet. International Buyers – Please Note. 4-4-6-4 Steam Engine and Tender. This is another massive MTH offering. This set is new. I programmed it into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great and sounded awesome. The system information states this engine has 0.0 scale miles on the odometer (I can supply a picture if interested). This may be the first steam engine set I have offered with a man sitting in the tender. As with every MTH engine, the battery needs to be fully charged for the engine to perform at it’s best. This is common for these older MTH engines when the battery levels are not maintained. This is an awesome looking, huge set. Some Features of this Item. Precision Flywheel Equipped Motor. This set is new, but I listed it as used because the battery has been depleted and it needs a new, fully charged battery installed to get all the functions to work properly. This engine came from a huge collection and spent it’s life behind glass and was never used and that is why the battery levels were not maintained. I programmed this monster into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great, but the volume was very low and the sounds are garbled. This is normal for these older MTH engines if the battery levels are not properly maintained. 4-8-4 GS-2 Steam Engine and Tender. This set looks new to me, but I listed it as used because I noticed a small chip on the front of the tender, as-pictured. The sounds on this set are garbled and a new, fully charged battery is needed so the engine will perform properly. This set was part of a huge collection and spent it’s life behind glass and was never used. Because of this the battery was not kept charged and needs to be addressed for the system to perform properly. I programmed this set into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great, but the sounds were garbled as noted above. The system information states this engine has. 5 scale miles on the odometer (I can supply a picture if interested). The inner factory wrapping was missing when I received this set so I wrapped the engine and tender in new tissue paper so that it is properly secured in the box and will show up in great condition. NYC & StL 2-8-4 Berkshire Steam Engine and Tender. I have to be honest. I love the looks of this engine, but not sure why it’s called Golden Spike? I thought that was reserved for the first 4-4-0 that made it’s way across the United States. This is a large set. It is new, but was displayed behind glass for most of it’s life. I cleaned the set the best I could, but did notice in the pictures that it’s still a little dusty in the cab and front detail areas. MTH O Scale Chesapeake and Ohio C&O 2-6-6-6 Allegheny Steam Engine P2 20-3115-1
MTH Chesapeake and Ohio. 2-6-6-6 Allegheny Steam Engine and Tender. This is one of my favorite looking engines. Right up there with the 4-4-0 General. This set is new, but please note it has a loose piece of decking and the bell is loose. One piece of decking is loose (sorry, but I didn’t write in my notes which piece), but I placed it on the train prior to picturing. The bell is also loose. It clicks into place, then when I moved the train to picture it came off. I have lost these in the past so I secured this one in the box to make sure I would not loose it and pictured the train without the bell. It’s in the box in tissue paper. I programmed this monster into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great and sounded even better.
