Here is an elderly oil fired steam engine and its Vanderbilt tender, all brass and steel. The set is from Westside, made by Katsumi Mokeiten Co Japan. The brass surfaces are tarnished but not corroded. Should be just fine for painting with some of cleanup prep. The engine runs great, forward and reverse, fast and slow. Other than its bell, we see nothing missing, nothing damaged, no faults. Comes in the original box with a boiler weight and screws. On our layout it ran properly as-is. This is a rare item and its performance is guaranteed. The contacts from the rear truck has been cleaned (this is the only left rail powered pick-up, so it can be erratic). The wheels have ben cleaned. The rear truck spring has been extended. There are two optional pilots included in the box. There is tarnish on the locomotive, however there is no added texture. There are also a couple of faint scratches. Here we have a. Hallmark/Fujiyama MKT 4-6-2 Pacific Steam Engine BRASS ISSUES HO-Scale. Foam went bad in the box and damaged the paint on the engine and tender. Engine had cab roof damage and missing the cab roof “lip”. Comes in the original box, no foam. Tested, serviced and does run pretty good. Custom painted, decent job, but foam has attacked the paint, so it will probably need to be striped and repainted. Please look at the pictures to see exactly what you will receive. Brass steam engine and tender that is the Central Railroad of New Jersey 4-6-4 T. HO scale in the original box with the paperwork and insert it come with, all in the original box. The box was stamped on the bottom when it was received on May 24,1972. They have never been run, just out of the box maybe once to look at. There’s one small piece that has never even been put on, it’s still in a sealed plastic envelope.
