Occre Adler Coaches for Steam Train Locomotive 1:24 Scale Model Kit. Photographic instructions make building easy. Coach 1: 190mm x 116mm x 100mm Coach 2: 220mm x 105mm x 100mm Coach 3: 215mm x 72mm x 100mm. The Adler (German for’Eagle’) was the first locomotive that was successfully used commercially for the rail transport of passengers and goods in Germany. The railway vehicle was designed and built in 1835 by the British railway pioneers George and Robert Stephenson of Newcastle. When it finally reached its destination it was put back together at the workshops of Johann Wilhelm Spaeth. The coaches were built in wood by local workshops. It was delivered to the Bavarian Ludwig Railway, Bayerische Ludwigsbahn, for service between Nuremberg and Fürth. On 7th December 1835 it completed its maiden journey from Furth to Nuremberg, along a line measuring 6.04 km in length.. The Adler was a steam locomotive of the Patentee type with a wheel arrangement of 2-2-2 (Whyte notation) or 1A1 (UIC classification). The Adler was equipped with a tender of type 2 T 2. The locomotive is operational we did not test the smoke function. The only damage we could find was on the coal car the rear ladder appears to be missing one side of the upper loop clearly shown in photo’s. The entire thing is brass and it is again all there. The original box and packaging is in very good condition with no rips or tears in the box, and only few minor scuffs here and there. It reads “Rio Grande HOn3 2-8-0 K-27″. As for condition again we are not experts and we have done our best to provide photo’s of the item for you to make your decision. Westside Models Company Long Island Railroad G5s 4-6-0 ten wheeler by Katsumi in Japan. The Long Island G5s was built by Pennsylvania Railroad and modeled after their G5, although it used a K4 tender. This model is in excellent condition and runs well; wheels show no wear. Original box is in great condition, middle foam has been replaced. Box paperwork, and two original parts packs are included. Model has light tarnish. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam, use additional padding, water proof, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap and air pillows as needed. I use oversized boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains! A couple of notes. I take packing seriously! I use bubble wrap, plenty of packing material, and sturdy boxes. Loose cars will be wrapped in tissue paper, then bubble wrap. The 38 class design based on a need to eliminate the complications of double heading required on a number of fast interstate passenger trains. The conditions of track work with frequent sharp curvature to be traversed at high speed would require six-coupled driving wheels in a Pacific 4-6-2 configuration. Maintenance considerations suggested a two-cylinder simple steam locomotive. In May 1939 an order for five 38 class locomotives was placed with Clyde Engineering with a distinctive streamlined boiler casing. The remaining 25 locomotives were built without streamlining at the NSWGRs Eveleigh and Cardiff Workshops. From 1961 the locomotives were progressively withdrawn from service.
