RARE SUNSET MODELS BRASS 3RD RAIL “O” SCALE STEAM ENGINE PRR J1a 2-10-4. “O” Scale 3-Rail Brass Model Locomotive and Tender Pennsylvania Railroad J1a 2-10-34 #6443. This listing is for a New In The Box Sunset 3rd Rail, all brass, Pennsylvania RR locomotive and tender. The set is new in the box. As you can see, I chose to leave the internal packaging as it came from the factory. The gallery photo was copied from the Internet. It is not a photo of the locomotive/tender set that you will be receiving. This is a very rare item with only 190 made in the late 1990’s. 3rd Rail 6443 Pennsylvania J1 2-10-4 brass Steam Locomotive and Tender features smoke, sounds, a large motor, and a terrific amount of detail. The tender has realistic coal in the bin tender and a back-up light. Requires a 72 inch minimum track diameter. 3rd Rail is a division of Sunset Models and makes a terrific line of brass locomotives and cars. RARE Vintage Lobaugh LMT Brass O scale 2-8-4 (C&NW) Steam Loco TLC

Lobaugh made all their own parts, even the motor has a Lobaugh name tag. They were the 1. To utilize 2 rail power pick-up from both the engine and the tender; thus, the wiring between the 2 units. They are very heavy units, for their day, with the engine weighing 6 lbs. And the tender at 2 lbs. The loco is set up to operate on 2 rail DC track; however according to the website mentioned above, it could be converted to 3 rail AC. I tested it on a test track and got no response. I tried switching the plug-ins and got no response. I removed the engine shell (2 screws in the rear and 1 screw in the front) and touched power leads directly to the motor. It hummed and acted like it wanted to turn; but, there was just not enough power. The motor is free, I could easily turn it by hand. The loco shows a fair amount of fine detail, especially for its age. I did notice some paint scratches and other flaws. Front right marker light is missing screw mounted bracket is still there. Left rear tender step is missing. Solder spill on tender axle from making a wire connection. Front engine truck has a solder repair at the left wheel. Light surface rust spots on tender wheels and axles. 3 engine brakes are missing. The website mentioned above says Lobaugh locos were considered mechanical masterpieces and many of todays scratch engine builders prefer parts from these locos. I dont think it would take much to restore this loco in lieu of using it for parts. Because of the size of this package 11-12 lbs. Check out my other listings by clicking on. Division Point Brass HO Scale New Haven (NYNH&H) Alco RS2 with Steam Generator

For those that are interested in railroad history, the history of the New Haven Railroad is one big soap opera, “a real train wreck” (poor choice of words) but the mark this railroad left on the New England states still fascinates a new generation of railfans and modelers which is why the Division Point still continues to produce New Haven models today though the railroad has been gone for almost 45 years. Offered here is the New Haven 0507, an Alco RS2 equipped with a steam generator and train control equipment. The locomotive is finished in bright orange and black and the scheme was considered the worst of the New Haven paint schemes. I thought the Alpert Administration paint scheme was a hell of a lot better than Penn Central brunswick green or 13D black but preference is a matter of taste. The locomotive you will receive is the one pictured and it will come in its original box and is ready to run. Though I unwrapped it for the photos you will be the first one to open the throttle. Let me know what you are looking for and I see some more CNJ RSD4s and Cotton Belt RS3s in your future. I even found some Tiger Striped Southern Pacific RSD5’s. This is a limited edition Weaver O-scale Pennsylvania RR 4-4-4-4 T-1 Duplex intended for use on a 3-rail system. This was a limited edition and only 750 were made. This is number 185 of the 750. This has been run, but very little. There are two small spots on the rear edge of the cab that are chipped you can see them in the third picture. This is a BEAST! The engine by itself weighs in at almost 8 pounds. The tender is about 14 long! There is not an owners manual included. Here are some of the listed features. Operating knuckle coupler on tender. 1963 Akane HO scale brass steam engine and tender USRA 2-8-2 heavy Union Pacific custom painted In original box Exact date made 11/7/1963 Country Tokyo Japan Vintage and some what hard to find Original certificate still inside the box lid A very nice steam engine and tender that has been kept in its original box for a while now because of my father’s long illness. Due to his illness and passing he wasn’t able to rebuild his layout again. Both of us have kept all of his collection in their original boxes. Well taken care of too, as you will see by the photo’s. This brass engine is custom painted. I tested the engine and tender, ran forward but stopped. I did the test with a portion of track and 9 volt battery. As you can see in photo no. 2 a wire isn’t attached. I’m not sure if it’s suppose to be that way. There is a parts bag inside box. The inside of the box does show wear, from age, but no tears, rips, or holes. The box does have wear on it from age. The original certificate, still attached, will give you the date it was finished and packaged in Tokyo Japan by Akane. Westside Models Brass HO Scale 4-8-2 Steam Locomotive. Great Northern # 2517. This is DCC Ready with 9 Pin Quick Plug. I did test run the engine. The Engine runs very well, smooth and quiet in both directions. This has had a can motor installed. Very nice paint job, a few areas show light paint loss (CHECK PHOTOS CAREFULLY). Original Box and Foam are in good condition. Box shows some shelf wear. Please check photos carefully as they are the best description. Most of my items come from estates and collections.
