The JGR Class 3255 (originally the Nambu Railway Class 2) is a 2-6-2T Prairie-type side tank steam locomotive operated by the Japanese Government Railways from 1926 to 1948. The Class 3255 was an early steam locomotive operated in Japan. The type was manufactured initially for the Jinchu Railway, with two locomotives manufactured by Kisha Seizo and delivered in 1926; these were numbered 3 and 4. What would later be christened the Class 3255 was a single locomotive built for the Nambu Railway the same year. This locomotive was numbered 2. After the Nambu Railway was acquired by the JGR in 1943, the sole locomotive was classified the Class 3255 and renumbered as such. After the railroad was acquired by the JGR the locomotive saw little use and was scrapped in 1948. The two Jinchu Railway locomotives saw a better fate; they were renumbered 7 and 8 after the railroad was acquired by Sagami Railway, then were resold to the Ena Railway and served until the 1960s.
