The model is unpainted and with some minor blemishes. The model ran well but noisy as expected of this model. The gearbox was cleaned and greased with Labelle 106 grease. The model is in a Hi Grade box but is not a Hi Grade model. The pilot is missing the piece under the coupler. A part of the valve gear that links the crosshead to the valve gear broke but does not inhibit the running capabilities. There is no parts bag included. Just minutes off the 80/90. 16620-1 HO Painted BRASS C&O K-4 2-8-4 Steam Loco #2759. This wonderful locomotive features painted and decorated brass construction, metal siderods, metal wheels, and motor. This locomotive and tender are in excellent condition. While I never want to say perfect I dont see any nicks scrapes, chips in the paint. All brass tubing looks in place and not bent. Frankly I think this loco was only ever displayed!! Are service staff has tested it and it runs fine in both forward and reverse. The original box is included, along with the foam liner. The liner is in great shape. Overall condition is Excellent. 2-8-4 Berkshire Steam Engine and Tender. This engine is new, but there is a paint scrap mark on the side of the tender. Please review the pictures. I programmed this set into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great and sounded awesome. The system information states this engine has 1.0 scale miles on the odometer (I can supply a picture if interested). The sounds are awesome, but like all MTH engines, the battery will need to be fully charged for the system to perform at 100%. This is very common for trains that were not used for a long period of time and the battery levels were not maintained. Some Features of this Item. Precision Flywheel Equipped Motor. All Metal Wheels, Gears and Chassis. Operates on O-54 Curves. (see picture of box end for full feature list). Manual Included in Box. The box has some creasing and shelf wear. Lobaugh made all their own parts, even the motor has a Lobaugh name tag. They were the 1. To utilize 2 rail power pick-up from both the engine and the tender; thus, the wiring between the 2 units. They are very heavy units, for their day, with the engine weighing 6 lbs. And the tender at 2 lbs. The loco is set up to operate on 2 rail DC track; however according to the website mentioned above, it could be converted to 3 rail AC. I tested it on a test track and got no response. I tried switching the plug-ins and got no response. I removed the engine shell (2 screws in the rear and 1 screw in the front) and touched power leads directly to the motor. It hummed and acted like it wanted to turn; but, there was just not enough power. The motor is free, I could easily turn it by hand. The loco shows a fair amount of fine detail, especially for its age. I did notice some paint scratches and other flaws. Front right marker light is missing screw mounted bracket is still there. Left rear tender step is missing. Solder spill on tender axle from making a wire connection. Front engine truck has a solder repair at the left wheel. Light surface rust spots on tender wheels and axles. 3 engine brakes are missing. The website mentioned above says Lobaugh locos were considered mechanical masterpieces and many of todays scratch engine builders prefer parts from these locos. I dont think it would take much to restore this loco in lieu of using it for parts. Because of the size of this package 11-12 lbs. Check out my other listings by clicking on.
