The large drivers gave the locomotive a high top speed; the telling mark of a steam engine built for passenger service. The GS-4 was built for the Southern Pacific Railroad by the Lima Locomotive Works and delivered in the early 1940s for the SPs premier passenger trains, finding its way to the Daylight series of name trains. One of the more unique specifications for the GS-4 by the SP was its Mars light, a necessity with the large amount of grade crossings and fog present on the West Coast. The Mars light, like ditch lights on modern locomotives, was utilized as a warning for grade crossings that a high speed train was approaching, its shifting light patterns serving as an eye catcher in foggy conditions. About the BNSF Black Excursion Version: In 2000, the Daylight was repainted black and silver for a Burlington Northern Santa Fe employee appreciation special. This train excursion went through Seattle, Washington and then east into Montana before heading back to her home in Portland, Oregon. Here we a 16mm scale Locomotion Live Steam Railcar in 32mm Gauge (O Gauge). This railcar is in good working order, however my garden railway is unfortunatelydue small for the railcar so I have decided to sell it on. Its fitted with two oscillating cylinders, vertical gas fired boiler. Boiler fitted with water level gauge, safety valve and Enots Water top up valve fitted on side of chassis. Body work is made from good quality plywood. Sprung buffers fitted front and rear. The only thing that lets it down is the paintwork on the front section, but it could easily be rectified. These locomotives are no longer. And are becoming very sort after! There is no box present but it will however be posted in a strong box with plenty of bubble wrap. Lionel Southern Pacific AC-12. Cab Forward Steam Engine and Tender. This is a fantastic looking set, but it doesn’t work properly. When I tested this set the engine would go, then slow down, then speed up and slow down and continue to do this. It didn’t hold the speed appropriately. Again – it would not hold a constant speed with my MTH transformer and would slow down and then get back to speed and continue to do that. I retested with a Lionel ZW and it did the same thing. I also tried adjusting the various switches and it still performed the same. The set looks real nice, but I noticed a loose window pane that I’m not sure if it is in the cab or if it is lost. I also noticed a few paint chips, primarily on the front of the tender. Set is a little dusty in the hard to clean areas like the detailed areas on the walkways. Set is not perfect, but still very desirable. This set is equipped with all the nice features like wireless tether, TMCC, Railsounds 5.0, Odyssey, Fat Boy Speakers (the best in my opinion), metal construction and many others. Please review side of box for all the details. I don’t have the manual for this set. The box looks nice with minor shelf wear. Again – the set doesn’t work properly. Someone may know the issues, but I was unable to find anything on the various web pages. Please review the pictures. Let me know if you have any questions. Sunset Models Norfolk & Western 4-8-4 J Class made in Korea by Samhongsa and imported in 1983. Model is in excellent condition with very few finish flaws. Model has can motor and runs excellently. Nice details including backhead, opening cab vents, working retractable pilot coupler, etc. There are a few very small laquer stains. Original box and foam are in great shape, there is a nut driver tool in box. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam as needed, use additional padding, water proof, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap and air pillows. I use oversized boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains! A couple of notes. This will alert me to invoice you with an adjusted total. I take packing seriously! I use bubble wrap, plenty of packing material, and sturdy boxes. Up for sale we have an HO scale GEM C&O J3a 4-8-4 Brass 614 Custom Numbered, Lettered W/Tender. This a 613 J3a 4-8-4 renumbered to 614 with custom numbers and tender. The locomotive does have moving vent in the roof that you can slide opened or closed. The locomotive has been tested in the last month and it does run. The only issue is that one of the connecting rods comes loose and falls off and has to be put back on and tightened down. The locomotive does show signs of use and some of the paint has worn off in some spots exposing the brass. The Chesapeake Ohio tender doesn’t has a drawbar, spring or screw. The front hose on the tender is loose and hit hangs in a way that it touches the wheels. There are signs of use on the tender and some paint has come off and the brass is showing. The tender have Knuckle couplers and are in great condition. Please feel free to ask questions. Recommend 22 radius or greater.
