MTH Premier #20-3160-1 Pennsylvania J-1 2-10-4 Steam Engine issued in 2005. It’s equipped with ProtoSound 2.0 (Hi-Rail Wheels) & features. Engine has been Used. Tested in DCS Mode and ran fine. 4-8-4 GS-2 Steam Engine and Tender. This set looks new to me, but I listed it as used because I noticed a small chip on the front of the tender, as-pictured. The sounds on this set are garbled and a new, fully charged battery is needed so the engine will perform properly. This set was part of a huge collection and spent it’s life behind glass and was never used. Because of this the battery was not kept charged and needs to be addressed for the system to perform properly. I programmed this set into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great, but the sounds were garbled as noted above. The system information states this engine has. 5 scale miles on the odometer (I can supply a picture if interested). The inner factory wrapping was missing when I received this set so I wrapped the engine and tender in new tissue paper so that it is properly secured in the box and will show up in great condition. NYC & StL 2-8-4 Berkshire Steam Engine and Tender. I have to be honest. I love the looks of this engine, but not sure why it’s called Golden Spike? I thought that was reserved for the first 4-4-0 that made it’s way across the United States. This is a large set. It is new, but was displayed behind glass for most of it’s life. I cleaned the set the best I could, but did notice in the pictures that it’s still a little dusty in the cab and front detail areas. I programmed this engine into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great. The system information states this engine has. 5 scale miles on the odometer (I can supply a picture if interested). Lionel Baltimore and Ohio. EM-1 2-8-8-4 Steam Engine and Tender. This set will not go. When I tested it the motor made a humming noise, but the set would not move. The more power I gave it the louder it hummed. I only tried a few times as I didn’t want to damage the engine. This set is used and shows some wheel and pick-up wear. It primarily lived behind glass in a large collection and was not used. The oil may have gummed up and needs cleaning from not being used. This set was issued with the following features. MTH Chesapeake and Ohio. 2-6-6-6 Allegheny Steam Engine and Tender. This is one of my favorite looking engines. Right up there with the 4-4-0 General. This set is new, but please note it has a loose piece of decking and the bell is loose. One piece of decking is loose (sorry, but I didn’t write in my notes which piece), but I placed it on the train prior to picturing. The bell is also loose. It clicks into place, then when I moved the train to picture it came off. I have lost these in the past so I secured this one in the box to make sure I would not loose it and pictured the train without the bell. It’s in the box in tissue paper. I programmed this monster into my remote and did a quick spin and it worked great and sounded even better. The system information states this engine has. 1 scale miles on the odometer (I can supply a picture if interested). This is an awesome looking, huge set and one of my favorites. ART-21501 Baltimore & Ohio 2-8-2 Mikado Steam Locomotive #4619 & Vanderbilt Tender. This is an excellent condition steam locomotive and tender. They only thing to note is there are some rub marks from the styrofoam packaging. In 2006 it was installed with a Sierra digital sound system. It was briefly run, than stored away. When I tested the sound unit, the sound was erratic and needed high voltage before it came on. I plugged the external overnight battery charger and it had the same result in the morning. Per the troubleshooting guide, it appears that the battery has fully drained and failed. Hopefully with a new battery installed, the sound should work as expected. The locomotive otherwise tested perfectly with all the lights working too. Included are extra couplers, side pipes, whistle, instructions and explosion diagrams.
