Big and brawny looking locomotive has working smoke and headlight. This locomotive runs as good as it looks. It has been modified by the previous owner so that it picks up power through the tender trucks instead of through the drivers. These locos had reliability problems with the drive wheels not picking up power reliably when they started to pit or get dirty. Easily grades C-7 Excellent or better by Train Collectors Assn. Locomotive and tender are in great shape and show no wear. Unit was tested and runs well in both directions, could probably use a re-lubrication due to age on shelf. Boiler weight is in box and has not been installed, couplers also have not been installed. Includes a set of Champ decals. Box has crease on top but is otherwise in great shape; foam is in great shape. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam, use additional padding, water proof, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap and air pillows as needed. I use oversized boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains! A couple of notes. I take packing seriously! I use bubble wrap, plenty of packing material, and sturdy boxes. Loose cars will be wrapped in tissue paper, then bubble wrap. Westside Models Company Long Island Railroad G5s 4-6-0 ten wheeler by Katsumi in Japan. The Long Island G5s was built by Pennsylvania Railroad and modeled after their G5, although it used a K4 tender. This model is in excellent condition and runs well; wheels show no wear. United Scale B&O Power 2-8-0 Locomotive & Tender NIB. Please note that one of the Domes have become unattached from the boiler as shown in the photo’s. Please look it over carefully. It looks as though it was just a poor solder job from the factory. There is no other damage that I can see and the Dome is not deformed in any way. Original Box and Packing, some foam starting to show age. Items will be wrapped in bubble wrap to protect them as needed from deteriorating foam. These are not toys and most are over 40 years old. Please note that I do not have the ability or inclination to test each and every one of these units. My dad never owned a piece of track and did not get to realize his Great Northern railroad in his retirement so, good or bad, these locomotives are as he bought them all those years ago. Having said that, there may be issues that are well known in the community with deteriorating plastic parts or known mechanical or quality control issues with manufacturers over the years that are well documented on the internet. This is a wonderful hobby and I’ve met many fabulous people so I certainly don’t want any unhappy customers.
