Here we have a 16mm scale, 32mm gauge Live Steam Shay Locomotive. The loco is a twin cylinder oscillator, the boiler is gas fired (burner set up looks Roundhouse). Its believed the loco was built by Larry Cheeseman from Bedfordshire. The loco works well both in forward and reverse (direction control at top of engine unit) very good mechanical condition, although could do with a tidy up. Cab features steam regulator, pressure gauge and displacement lubricator. Below is a YouTube video with the loco in steam with the burner turned down. Happy for the loco to be picked up due to size and weight, based in North Surrey. Bowande G scale [1:32] 45mm live steam, gas fired British Railway 4MT Tank 2-6-4 Locomotive. This example is pre-owned and is still in excellent condition, just a bit dusty and has not been used or steamed. It comes with the correct controller and the maker’s instructions for the Locomotive and the controller. The Locomotive is butane gas fired and the refillable gas tank is hidden under the caol in the rear bunker. The cab roof hinges to one side to reveal the controls and backhead fittings. They include the regulator forward and reverse lever, pressure gauge, gas flow rate valve and the water gauge assembly. It has a pair of safety valves set at 70 to 75psi the normal working pressure is 60 to 65psi and the manufacturers quote that the boiler was tested to 150psi. There is a lubrication system with access at the front of the locomotive above the buffer bar. The locomotive’s length is 426mm, the width is 87mm and the height is 124 cam. 16mm scale Tony Sant Finescale Engineering GVT’Sir Theodore’ live steam locomotive in very good working condition with original Finescale wooden box. It is meths fired with a silver soldered copper pot boiler, Wheldon type heat shield and geared manual control with reversing lever. Currently set to SM32 but easily re-gaugable to 45mm using grub screws. The body simply lifts off the chassis for servicing by pulling the centre buffers which are reverse sprung to hold the body in place. I most recently steamed this just yesterday and despite it being quite windy it ran really nicely. It can handle my tight radius curves with ease. I took a couple of short video clips, one of which I have put on youtube for viewing. Here is the link. Mechanically it is in very good condition. The gears are not showing any visible signs of wear. I’ve never been able to get the steam whistle to sound – the valve opens and from what I can see, some steam enters the whistle but not enough to sound it – something to fettle. There are a couple of minor areas of paint loss on the chassis but overall this loco is in lovely condition – especially when you consider its age. The body is in excellent condition too with no dents or scratches. The paintwork is like new and unmarked and it has a high quality lining job with works/nameplates. Length over buffers 25cm. Cab height from rail 15.5cm. Happy to answer any questions – please do ask. If collecting I can arrange for a socially distanced demonstration run on my railway.
