Overview The Pacific-type locomotive evolved as the need for power and speed increased. First, the four-wheel leading truck delivered stability at the faster speeds. Second, six tall drivers provided pulling power and speed. Last, a two-wheel trailing truck provided support for a larger firebox. The sum of this design was the 4-6-2 USRA Pacific. The USRA designation for light and heavy locomotives was a function of the track’s ability to withstand weight. Excessive axle weight could damage the rails, loosen fastenings, and also cause damage to the locomotive. The USRA deemed a maximum of 54,000 pounds per axle as a light locomotive. The USRA Light Pacific weighed in at 277,000 lbs, with a 73 inch driver diameter and a boiler pressure of 200 lb/in. BLI’s models follow the original designs closely. Up for sale is this Used G Scale ART 21411 Aristocraft Santa Fe 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive & Long Tender. This is an estate find looks like new I dont know if it has been run if so not much by the looks of it. The Bell has not been install it is wrapped up in paper. There are two couplers still in the original plastic packages. The tender instructions are included but the Locomotive instructions are missing but you can down load them from the internet. I tried to test this with my HO transformer she ran but the HO transformer does not put out enough Volts to run this Big Locomotive. So not sure if the headlight works because of not enough power. The boxes do have some wear from storage. Please view the photos and read full description for the best possible description. Note it is good practice on any item that has been stored or not in use for any length of time it should be cleaned oiled or lubricate before put in service for maximum potential. Vintage Fleischmann HO Steam Locomotive # 4171 in excellent to near mint condition with original box with nothing damaged or broken. Very lightly used, runs and looks great! This engine runs extremely smooth like all of the Fleischmann products and in my opinion the Fleischmann products are one of the best. The quality and attention to detail along with it’s operation really stands out. If you have never owned or used a Fleischmann, I would definitely recommend you give them a try.
