HO Scale Brass Westside Model Co WMC UP Union Pacific 4-10-2
In 1971 built by Katsumi. The connector between the gearbox and the motor was replaced. The gear box was cleaned and new LaBelle 106 Plastic Safe Grease was added to the gearbox. The locomotive has been tested on my test track and ran well with some gearbox noise. The locomotive is non-DCC. The locomotive has an open frame. The box id in good condition. There is no foam but I will pack well with bubble wrap and other packing material so the locomotive is well protected inside the WMC box. The locomotive weight was not installed but included. There is a parts bag included with screws and a parts bag included with coupler pockets. There is some tarnish on the brass. Please view my other auctions/listing. Scale 1:87 Length 475mm DCC Type DCC Ready Class 4000 Entered Service 1941 Minimum Curve 1st Radius + (371mm) Detail Removable Coal Load Motor 5 Pole & Twin Flywheel Purpose Heavy Coal. This year sees the 150th anniversary since the Pacific Railroad was finished, which linked the existing eastern US network with the Pacific coast at Omaha, Nebraska. The 1,912 miles of continuous railway line was built between 1863 and 1869. 2019 also marks 60 years since the “Big Boy” locomotives first started being removed from the US network with Union Pacific restoring the 4014 to coincide with this anniversary. Called “Big Boy” as of all the articulated engines, this 4-8-8-4 was the biggest in terms of size, weight and speed. The name originates from a message written in chalk on the door of the smoke box by a worker on the prototype project. “Big Boy” can reach speeds of 80 miles per hour, with over 7000 hp. With a confounding length of 475mm (almost 19 inches), a 5-pole motor and brass flywheel, a DCC Ready 21-pin plug, handrails made from steel wire and much more, this locomotive is unlike any other and undeniably lines alongside other models as a classic. Up for sale is this vintage AHM 4-6-6-4 Challenger Union Pacific Locomotive number 5113-02, Road Number 3967. This is HO Scale and made by Rivarossi. Nearly 50 years old and still looks great, only one little paint chip as shown in picture 6 could I see, there may be more but they are few. The box does show some signs of wear, missing flaps and plastic insert is yellowed and brittle. Was bench tested only by touching transformer leads to terminals on motor and it did run and light. Union Pacific N scale KATO 4-8-4 FEF-3 UP # xxx Custom painted and decaled in Two Tone Gray. This has been bench tested as I dont have the radius to support this size of locomotive. This is a very difficult project and decaling the stripes can make you crazy. Ive done a number of these and nearly perfected this scheme. With that being said this is a paint job that needs to be left to the experts as the entire locomotive gets torn down to the frame. The lines and paint brakes are just about as perfect as anyone can get. Ive also got the paint colors for this project dialed in almost perfectly. I always say if you want a perfect project or model give the project to someone that is passionate about the project. Thats me for this project. I take on a lot of projects but this one is my absolute favorite. There is still a lot of opportunities with this model that can be added. I also repaint the front of the boiler as the prototypes do not have a silver boiler on the front. The whistle is painted to mirror the prototype. The Drivers come painted with a white ring around the edge, thats repainted black. The lights on the tender are painted correctly with a red light on the top of the tender and a yellow light illuminated on tender body. I can do these in any number so if there is a number that you dream about lets make it a reality. I also do a lot of trading. Hit me up with what you have and lets work it out.
