Lionel Southern Pacific AC-12. Cab Forward Steam Engine and Tender. This is a fantastic looking set, but it doesn’t work properly. When I tested this set the engine would go, then slow down, then speed up and slow down and continue to do this. It didn’t hold the speed appropriately. Again – it would not hold a constant speed with my MTH transformer and would slow down and then get back to speed and continue to do that. The set looks real nice, but I noticed a loose window pane that I’m not sure if it is in the cab or if it is lost. I also noticed a few paint chips, primarily on the front of the tender. Set is a little dusty in the hard to clean areas like the detailed areas on the walkways. Set is not perfect, but still very desirable. This set is equipped with all the nice features like wireless tether, TMCC, Railsounds 5.0, Odyssey, Fat Boy Speakers (the best in my opinion), metal construction and many others. Please review side of box for all the details. I don’t have the manual for this set. The box looks nice with minor shelf wear. I priced accordingly for the issues noted above. Heavy and beautifully detailed American prototype loco and tender. Runs quietly and smoothly forward and reverse with directional lighting. Sound is a bit erratic. Sometimes you hear the air pump sounds on startup and sometimes a short whistle blast but not always. I installed a 9 volt alkaline battery in the tender which seemed to help a bit.
