Here is a Accucraft AC88-171 1:20.3 Scale D&RGW K-28 Steam Locomotive and Tender. This accurately detailed model is constructed of brass and stainless steel. A large pittman gearhead motor powers all eight drivers through a metal gear… This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. One number plate is missing on this locomotive as well as the rear trailing truck, Without that wheel set this is not a 2-0-8 steam locomotive. There are a few scratches and nicks in the paint on these items. The original boxes are included. Overall condition is Very Good. The 38 class design based on a need to eliminate the complications of double heading required on a number of fast interstate passenger trains. The conditions of track work with frequent sharp curvature to be traversed at high speed would require six-coupled driving wheels in a Pacific 4-6-2 configuration. Maintenance considerations suggested a two-cylinder simple steam locomotive. In May 1939 an order for five 38 class locomotives was placed with Clyde Engineering with a distinctive streamlined boiler casing. The remaining 25 locomotives were built without streamlining at the NSWGRs Eveleigh and Cardiff Workshops. From 1961 the locomotives were progressively withdrawn from service. Accucraft Caradoc live steam locomotive with 2.4GHz radio control and Summerlands Chuffer in excellent little used condition. Finished in GWR green with water top up valve, copper chimney cap, opening smokebox door and tool box. Really nicely proportioned loco with radio control professionally fitted to the reverser. Steams and runs well. This is the later version with smoke box rivet detail. Very few signs of use – just the odd small mark and a tiny dint in the brass dome that is barely noticeable. The tool box is secured using a small dab of silicone so it can be removed or re-located easily. Sale includes RC transmitter but no paperwork or box. From the Accucraft website: Caradoc is a freelance side tank locomotive with design inspirations from Hunslet. The loco is internally gas fired with a centre flue boiler. The model is built from stainless steel and brass and is gauge adjustable from 32mm to 45mm gauge and has insulated wheels as standard. The axles run in bronze bearings and all the rods and valve gear are manufactured from stainless steel. The cab roof slides backs to give access to the gas, water and lubricator fillers. The boiler is fitted with a water level check valve and the displacement lubricator has an under floor drain valve. Scale: 16mm to 1 foot (1:19). Length: 262mm (10 ¼ ins). Gauge: 32mm or 45mm. Accucraft Trains – D&RGW C-25 2-8-0, 1:20.3 Scale, Live Steam, Butane or Coal. This locomotive, a 2-8-0 or Consolidation type, originally existed as # 103 of the Crystal River Railroad, a narrow gauge line located in the Elk Mountains of central Colorado. It was built in 1903 as C/N 21757 of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, had 33 drivers, 18×20 cylinders, and a tractive effort just short of 25,000 pounds. It was a standard Baldwin design, and other narrow gauge locos of this size and type were built for railroads in the Western Hemisphere. Originally the locomotive was a class 112, this number reflecting the total weight of the locomotive, but eventually the D&RGW changed the classification numbers of their locomotives to reflect their tractive effort, and thus the classification of C-25. Interestingly, for a while the cab of this loco carried C-25-112 as its classification. The C-25 was affectionately known as the Baby Mudhen because its pulling power was close to that of the K-27 class, those engines being known as Mudhens. The 375 when it was put into service in 1916 was the best steamer on the railroad at that time. Sadly, on June 21, 1949 the one and only C-25 on the D&RGW was scrapped at Alamosa, Colorado. 1:20.3 Scale / 45 mm Gauge. Brass & Stainless Steel Construction. (1.2 M) Mini. AL88-118B Colorado & Southern. 71 Large Scale (1:20.3) 2-8-0 steam locomotive with tender and snow plow (electric version not live steam) Serial No. Heavy brass and steel construction. Model has had light use but is otherwise in great, original condition. Two minor issues: 1 a visor is missing above one of the cab windows and 2 most of the windows have come off and are loose or missing (not uncommon). Easily replaced by cutting new windows from thin acrylic sheet. Inner boxes included, one for locomotive and one for tender. Locomotive will be carefully packed in bubble wrap with foam under wheels and around snow plow to prevent damage (the snow plow on this one is perfect, not typically the case).
