This lot is a Gresley LNER Class J39/2 – there is no box, but I believe that the producer of the kit was either SE Fine Cast or Wills. The loco carries the first pre-grouping number 1808 – which became 4946 and then 64946. The loco has a 3 pole motor which runs quietly and smoothly and the loco performs very well on the two rail track in both forward and reverse. The kit has been built to a very high standard, from die cast white metal parts – so this is a nicely weighted loco. The small hickup with this loco is that the die-cast loco connecter at the front of the tender has been broken and will require a little ingenuity (or epoxy) to repair (see final image). Two very small items for reviewr on what is a very desirable little loco. Please ask any questions ad I will help where I can. Sorry, but I do not have the original box for this loco.
