This is the O-scale Lionel 6-38028 Pennsylvania S-2 Steam Turbine #6200 6-8-6, 3 rail. This has been very slightly run. Stored in the box with no dust or damage. Test run on AC only did NOT test the Command Control. This is a magnificent item. This monster is 30Inches long! Powered by a 6900 horsepower Westinghouse direct steam turbine engine, the Pennsylvania S-2 was one of the first attempts at holding on to the age of steam. The constant torque of the rotary turbine eliminated the power loss found in the reciprocating parts of a conventional steam locomotive. Even though the massive 6-8-6 weighed almost one million pounds, the S-2 exceeded the performance of a 6000 horsepower diesel above forty miles per hour. Our model features newly enhanced tooling. Weve added many new separately applied details, most noticeably a set of elephant ear smoke deflectors that equipped the S-2 in its later life. The cab interior includes a flickering firebox and cab window glass. This listing is for a New In The Box Sunset 3rd Rail, all brass, Pennsylvania RR locomotive and tender. The set is new in the box. As you can see, I chose to leave the internal packaging as it came from the factory. The gallery photo was copied from the Internet. This is a very rare item with only 190 made in the late 1990’s. 3rd Rail 6443 Pennsylvania J1 2-10-4 brass Steam Locomotive and Tender features smoke, sounds, a large motor, and a terrific amount of detail. The tender has realistic coal in the bin tender and a back-up light. Requires a 72 inch minimum track diameter. 3rd Rail is a division of Sunset Models and makes a terrific line of brass locomotives and cars. Lionel O gauge Smithsonian 18031 BR50 Deutsche Bundesbahn two rail locomotive and tender #74/150 with original box, control, and display case. In Like New (C8) condition. There is a crack on the display case (see photos). Loco has most likely been run on rollers on the display board. Runs on DC power. Fantastic for the collector! The Lionel BR50 is a true-scale locomotive and it incorporates… New and unique technology…. The Lionel BR50 locomotive model is constructed of formed and fabricated brass sheet and therefore must be handled differently than a traditional diecast Lionel steam locomotive. The Lionel BR50 locomotive model is a Direct Current (DC) powered model. Any application of alternating current (AC) as is supplied by most traditional Lionel power supplies will destroy the drive motor and sound system electronics…. The Lionel BR50 locomotive model is designed to run on two rail scale track with a minimum curvature radius of 70 inches. Although the track gauge is the same as traditional Lionel three rail track, the locomotive will not operate on any of the various three rail track systems available. Attempting to operate the BR50 on three rail track may cause damage to your DC power supply or the locomotive itself.
