LION, 1837 – 1859. Live steam coal powered scratch built scale model standing on rails on a period mahogany display stand with turned mahogany feet and brass name plate. A beautiful and superb model which must have taken years to build. Has come out of the attic where it was put in 2016 after a boiler and pressure system test. Test certificate to 17/10/2020 and not steamed since test. Inherited many years ago and i know little about the model unfortunately except that it is too good to use in my opinion! Truly a top drawer display item for a discerning collector. The level of detail is amazing , all metal except the wood cladding on the boiler. Total length with stand nearly 33 inches long by 14 by 2 inches stand height. Overall max height 15 inches.. Approximate length of locomotive and tender 25 plus inches. A bit dusty from being in the attic. It deserves being collected but would reluctantly post in 3 seperate parcels. I will do my best to confine the coal and chippings that make up the track but they are bound to seperate and will need re fixing.
