This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. This brass locomotive and tender showcase exquisite detail! The shell has been removed. The can motor and axles have been lubricated. Be sure that the union link and the combination levers are shaped correctly (the shape is drawn on the repair card). If not one correctly, the engine will be jerky. There are tarnish stains and a couple of faint scratches. Even though there are some minor imperfections, this brass engine will make an impressive addition to any collection. The original box is included with the liner, which is in great shape. Check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Excellent. On offer is a Sunset Models 2 rail O Scale 2-10-0. Please note the following.. In general everything is square and tight. The air cylinder casting has come adrift, included. At some point someone has re attached it as there is evidence of an adhesive at the mounting point. It really needs to be resoldered in place.. A run on my test bench shows the locomotive runs smooth. Current draw around 0.5A, which dropped with a few minutes of running. The cab fall plate has broken away from the model. One of the cab window sunshades has broken away from the cab, both parts present and included. The front left running board is loose, but attached. The steam turret is loose, but remains attached. The 2 steps at the pilot are bent from transit damage (likely). These could be bent straight, but with extreme care. I have no idea of date of production for this piece maybe the mid 1980’s at best?
