This is the HO equivalent of a barn find – well, not really, but the model has been sitting around having never been opened until now. Offered is this Division Point Northern Pacific RR Z-8 Challenger locomotive. This is the early coal version and what an intricately detailed model. How often do you see the coal screw in the bottom of the tender but no one real looks at that. They look at the locomotive and this locomotive has a face only a mother could love on payday, and that’s if it was a very large check. Air pumps are hanging from its face and just take a look at the rest of the photos. The locomotive you will receive is the one pictured and it will come in its original box and is ready to run. Though I unwrapped it for the photos you will be the first one to open the throttle. Let me know what you are looking for and I see some more CNJ or Southern PAcific RSD4s in your future. In stock are RS2 and RS3 locomotives decorated for the D&H, B&M, NYNH&H, LIRR and many more including the last of the Denver & Rio Grande Passenger Cars. HO Scale Van Hobbies Brass Custom Painted CNR U1f Class 4-8-2 Mountain Canadian National #6060. It was built in 1976 by Samhongsa in South Korea and is in excellent shape. Has been strictly a display piece by the current owner. Was track tested in our shop and runs well. No tender backup light. It does run OK at slow speeds, but since it has not been broken in over the years it will likely need servicing prior to long term operating if that is the goal. Locomotive was custom (not factory) painted by Proto Paint in Whitby, ONT. Model has appropriate window glazing, knuckle coupler on the tender and on the loco. Here is a HO Scale BRASS SP&S 2-8-0 Steam Locomotive & Tender. This unit features painted and decorated brass construction, metal side rods, metal wheels, and motor. Please see my pictures for additional features. This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. The old PFM sound system. It has been re-wired to conventional DC, and no sound. This unit has bench tested good however it is noisy at high speeds. There are a few nicks in the paint on these items. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included. This engine is in perfect cosmetic condition with decent custom paint and fantastic decal work with no silvering or bubbling. This berkshire is perfect for workaday use around your layout. The engine has its original open frame motor which needs to be cleaned and lubricated or replaced with a can motor and have DCC and sound installed. The mars light, headlight, and backup light on the tender work quite well and are quite bright. The locomotive does run but it is slow, stiff, and noisy due to the current state of the open frame motor. The engine comes with a replacement box. The Condition is Used. The large drivers gave the locomotive a high top speed; the telling mark of a steam engine built for passenger service. The GS-4 was built for the Southern Pacific Railroad by the Lima Locomotive Works and delivered in the early 1940s for the SPs premier passenger trains, finding its way to the Daylight series of name trains. One of the more unique specifications for the GS-4 by the SP was its Mars light, a necessity with the large amount of grade crossings and fog present on the West Coast. The Mars light, like ditch lights on modern locomotives, was utilized as a warning for grade crossings that a high speed train was approaching, its shifting light patterns serving as an eye catcher in foggy conditions. About the BNSF Black Excursion Version: In 2000, the Daylight was repainted black and silver for a Burlington Northern Santa Fe employee appreciation special. This train excursion went through Seattle, Washington and then east into Montana before heading back to her home in Portland, Oregon.
