Model was tested and ran ok, but will need cleaning and lube as it has sat for some time. Solid model with tarnish. Original box and foam in good condition with minor wear. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam as needed, use additional padding, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap. I use sturdy boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains! A couple of notes. This will alert me to invoice you with an adjusted total. I take packing seriously! I use bubble wrap, plenty of packing material, and sturdy boxes. This model is in “Excellent” condition. Not sure if the model runs because it was only displayed in a show case. The original box is included as shown. Nice backhead detail with in cab crew. 2-8-0 Steam Engine and Tender. Great looking brass set. This set was tested and it worked really nice in both directions. I question if this set was factory painted and I’m thinking it was done later. It presents well, but it is not a high end factory job. The weight in the cab was added at a later point. This engine is in perfect cosmetic condition with decent custom paint and fantastic decal work with no silvering or bubbling. This berkshire is perfect for workaday use around your layout. The engine has its original open frame motor which needs to be cleaned and lubricated or replaced with a can motor and have DCC and sound installed. The mars light, headlight, and backup light on the tender work quite well and are quite bright. The locomotive does run but it is slow, stiff, and noisy due to the current state of the open frame motor. The engine comes with a replacement box. The Condition is Used.
