1 INCH SCALE ALLCHIN TRACTION ENGINE. Superb and rare Markie live steam 1 inch scale model of a Burrell traction engine, beautifully detailed with all usual fitments. Spirit fired and only low signs of use (please see photos). Comes with fuel trailer that was optional extra at the time. Comes with expired original boiler certificate and also certificate of manufacture from the factory. The only faults that i can see are the following. Steering chain snapped on one side but replacement present. Lid missing from oil reservoir on top of piston. The bar that the smokebox door handle screws into is detached. The gear selector cogs are a bit loose so will require tightening/spacing. SUPERB LOOKING ENGINE AND COMPLETE WITH FUEL TRAILER. Live Steam 3.5 3 1/2 Inch Gauge Scale Coal Fired LBSC Virginia 4-4-0 Tender. Lovely live steam coal fired locomotive with tender. Hand operated pump in tender and chassis mounted axle pump. All parts oiled and move freely, boiler looks in good condition and should pass hydraulic test and steam ticket without issues. Will be very sad to see this one go as Im a huge Disney railroad fan and wanted to repaint as a replica Disney loco. Wants a bit of a clean up and check over before use. Most steam clubs will test and ticket the engine for free included in your membership price. I will carefully pack on pallet or deliver in person if Im working near so that its extra safe if Im travelling near you for work. (Disenfected wearing a mask and deliver to doorstep only). Part built loco and with the amount done there is not a huge amount left to do. The major item will be a burner to be constructed and boiler testing. Paint work is only fair and ideally needs redoing again when construction is complete. The tender is completed however again paintwork is not to a high standard and needs redoing. Steam and Hydraulic certificates expire September 2019. It has proven itself to be a strong performer, regularly hauling trains of up to 18 people on the 1.25 mile circuit. In recent years it has proven to be reliable and an enjoyable engine to drive, steaming well and being simple to prepare and dispose. Unfortunately we are not finding sufficient time to enjoy her, and so its time for a new owner to take over. Since we have owned it I have fitted a vacuum ejector, replaced two crank pins, machined and replaced both pistons, replaced one injector. The boiler has always had the correct dosage of boiler treatment, and has been blown down and washed out regularly, and inspected and tested annually. If required, a trailer can also be offered as part of the sale if required (at additional cost), and a number of spare parts can also be included by negotiation. The locomotive can be steamed by arrangement at Echills Wood Railway for interested parties. Superb 1 Inch Scale Live Steam Markie Agricultural Traction Engine
MARKIE 1 INCH SCALE. LIVE STEAM AGRICULTURAL TRACTION ENGINE. An early 1 inch scale Markie (Farnham engineering) live steam traction engine that has seen little use and looks in excellent condition finished in authentic green & red. The engine comes with unused rubber bands for both front and back wheels, instructions, leaflets and a spare pressure gauge with washers. The original boiler certificate from Fareham engineering is also present. T he only faults I can see are that the steering chain is loose so will need wrapping around the turning axle and the allen screw on the bottom gear disc to the driving wheel needs tightening as it is not holding tight to the rear axle hence rear wheels are not turning with engine (I don’t have an allen key that small).
