Chesapeake & Ohio 2-8-2 Mikado class K-3 with Vanderbilt tender made in Japan by United and imported in 1978. Model has very nice detail, backhead, cab deck plate, etc. Shows negligible wheel wear, most likely testing. Can motor is nice and quiet, model runs very nicely. Original box in great condition with minor scuff on from lower right. Lots of original foam has lost its memory or is deteriorating and will not serve its intended purpose. I replace or remove inferior foam as needed, use additional padding, water proof, and wrap with plenty of bubble wrap and air pillows. I use oversized boxes with all seams taped ensuring that you don’t receive a box of “parts”. I pay special attention to my brass items, as many have been cherished for decades, were handmade, and deserve to remain a part of modeling history. Thanks for looking at Cherry Picked Trains! A couple of notes. This will alert me to invoice you with an adjusted total. I take packing seriously! I use bubble wrap, plenty of packing material, and sturdy boxes. The model was built in the mid90s by Samhongsa. Andis one of the last commissioned by Bobbye Hall. I did not includemany pictures because those that know this series of models know that they areperhaps the finest production pieces available and that detail photos would notdo it justice. The factory paint andlettering are outstanding. The level ofdetail, including a fully detailed cab, on this model is truly incredible. The model has never been unwrapped, thusnever test run. Others indicate thatmodels from this run are outstanding runners complete with a coastingdrive. It is a DC model with fulllighting. PFM Crown Brass HO Scale- Chesapeake and Ohio Class H-8 Steam Locomotive 2-6-6-6 , New Old Stock. This is a very special Locomotive bought new in’82 Lot’s of detailed pieces. Please look at the photo’s, very impressive. Original Box and Packing, Foam in good shape. These are not toys and most are over 40 years old. Please note that I do not have the ability or inclination to test each and every one of these units. My dad never owned a piece of track and did not get to realize his Great Northern railroad in his retirement so, good or bad, these locomotives are as he bought them all those years ago. Having said that, there may be issues that are well known in the community with deteriorating plastic parts or known mechanical or quality control issues with manufacturers over the years that are well documented on the internet. This is a wonderful hobby and I’ve met many fabulous people so I certainly don’t want any unhappy customers.
