G SCALE 45mm 0-6-2 LOCO. A well engineered Accucraft live steam G scale 0-6-2 loco with plaque to underside complete with channel receiver and spare parts you see in the photos. Looks to be gas fired. LOOKS LITTLE USED BUT NO REMOTE. Currently set to 45mm but the driving wheels are easily re-gauged to SM32 using grub screws. The SM32 pony truck is not included but I think the 45mm one should be quite easily changed (see photo). It uses spacers so if the axle was cut cut down and these removed it should be possible. It is also very similar to those found on other Accucraft pony trucks if you have one in your collection. Comes in original box. FROM THE ACCUCRAFT WEBSITE….. Superior is a close cousin of the model of the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway. This model has internal gas firing with a stainless steel superheater , and the smokebox door opens to aid lighting. The boiler has a water level check valve with the overflow piped away below the frames and the lubricator is fitted with an underfloor drain tap, both of which help to keep the cab free from excess oil and water. The loco is dual gauge and is supplied with alternative pony trucks for 32mm and 45mm gauges (32mm pony truck not included in this sale). It is suitable for adapting to radio control by using a single servo to control the speed/direction valve. The model is built from stainless steel and brass, and with the correct maintenance, will give a lifetime of pleasure. Scale: 16mm to 1 foot (1:19). Gauge: 32mm (O Gauge) or 45 mm (Gauge 1). Minimum radius: 30 (0.75m). Controls fitted as standard: steam regulator/reverser, safety valve (set to 60psi), pressure gauge, displacement lubricator, water level check valve and gas regulator. Cylinders: bore 1/2 (12.7mm), piston stroke 3/4 (19mm). Valve gear: Simulated Stephenson link, piston reverse valve controlled by lever in cab. All rods and valve gear are manufactured from stainless steel. Boiler: internally gas fired, stainless steel superheater, opening smokebox door. Dual gauge Sm32 & 1 gauge – the wheels are currently set for 32mm (Sm32 – O gauge) but can easily be re-gauged to 45mm (1 gauge). This superb little loco is really rare to find now! It has done a small amount of running on a Prescott rolling road – see separate listing.. But is far from run in yet. This engine has a few sweet modifications to make it really quite unique. Summerlands chuff pipe – sounds brilliant! Upgraded water filler, with pressurised bottle. Realistic bespoke silver soldered steam drain cocks to assist clearing the cylinders and aesthetics, operated in the cab via cab steam control – realistic station standing blow-off! Additional upgraded brass steam blow off valve cover. Upgraded gas filler valve. Bespoke rear coal load. Here’s a spec list from accucraft. Have the original boiler and gas test certification, instructions, large bottle of steam oil, water filler bottle, and gas canisters – no box though! Sensible offer may be considered. By the late 1800s, Frances Decauville Manufacturing Company had established themselves as builders of reliable and simple to operate narrow gauge steam locomotives. Many of their designs were intended for use in agricultural, mining, and light industrial settings. One such loco was a Decauville Type 1, 3-ton 0-4-0T built in 1899, construction #302, for the Dombe Grande Sugar Estates in what was then the Portuguese territory of Angola. The loco was named Bathala. In 1930, after three decades of dependable operation, Bathala was placed in a museum on the companys grounds. This act ultimately led to her survival from the civil war and turmoil which impacted that country decades later. After being found again in 2003, and after nearly two years of negotiations, the loco finally made its way to Johannesburg. In what is perhaps a world record for locomotive restoration, the work was completed in only four months! Bathala can now be found operating at the Sandstone Steam Railroad in Bloemfontain, Free State, South Africa.
